    which brake pads?

Looking forward to seeing you in class 1 next season. Standard pads all round did me fine last season *smile* I felt that standard pads might warm up more quickly than uprated ones (no doubt some will be along soon to tell me otherwise ) Anyway.. in class one we never brake (much) 😬 PaulB

  5. Any ideas which class we enter, or is it enought to just tick the LOtus 7 speed box? PaulB and Bec
  6. Hope to come to watch at Donnington Matthew. Any spare tickets? 😬 PaulB
  7. I think I might need some new rubber for the new season . So, what are the relative merits of A539 vs. Maxxis? Would the differences be as pronounced on a Class 1 car? PaulB
  8. Another Eddie lewis cup question.... The times posted have to be in the same class, but do they have to be in the same car? I was quite a bit quicker in the 'new' car last season, than in the previous three seasons in the old car. There were 4 events I didn't do in the new car last season, but did them in 2008 to 2010. I therefore have some relatively slow 'best times' for these events. Does this not give me a bit of an unfair advantage? PaulB
  9. For B5 Passat - up to 2005. Not sure if they will fit the later models. Complete with keys and long Allen key for correct torque setting. Good condition. £35. Would prefer collection as could be difficult to wrap 😬 Located nr Hinckley in Leicestershire, though will be travelling to Oxford and Bristol later in the week so could deliver. 10. Excellent evening. Many thanks to all those involved in the organstaion of the event - these things often take more time and effort to put on, than we perhaps appreciate. PaulB
  11. ....have probably had these, but can't find them. What time is kick off in the evening ? PaulB
  12. Great news At least 2 ladies in class 1 then - Bec has her racesuit ready and can't wait to get started. PaulB

    Towing limits

I thought there were some rules about not being able to tow a trailer rated at more that the max mass of the car, even if the trailer was not actually carrying that mass. PaulB

    Towing limits

Thanks for that. How much down plating will they do? PaulB

    Towing limits

Looking to down size on the Passat for towing. Offered a 1.6TDCi Focus - max towing limit 1200Kg (or could be 1300kg - haven't checked the engine power) My Brian James 950 has three numbers on the spec plate - 1375kg, 950kg 675kg and 675 kg. Am I correct in thinking that the 1375kg figure is the one I need to worry about (even though the all up mass is less than 1000kg)?. What is the legal position? PaulB
  16. Daughter Bec and myself would like places if at all possible - is anyone else from class 1 coming? Thanks PaulB and Bec
  17. Unless anyone has a bit of floor space for Bec and myself for Saturday night, looks like we will be camping too ☹️ PaulB
  18. Daughter wants to do the Speed championship with me next year ( on a budget!). Looking for Racewear. We are checking Fleabay regularly, but though it was worth an ask here. Looking for a 54 size Sparco / 52 OMP race suit - blokey one would do 😳, plus any other bits - boots size 8 , small/medium fireproof gloves. Won't need it until early next season, so would consider one which might be coming available at the end of this season. Anything considered 😬 Paul & Bec B

    Race suit

Daughter Bec is hoping to do the Championship in class 1 with me next year. We are looking at Ebay for race suits. One up at the moment which is FIA standard 1986, with other numbers: 05.218.csai.96. Any ideas what these numbers mean and if the suit is suitable - we don't want to end up with a karting suit!! Alternatively, has anyone got a suit (around 54 Sparco size) that they want to move on at a reasonable price?? (+ size 8 boots and meduim gloves 😬) Thanks Paul and Bec B

    Curborough Today

Some people are never happy (..... mine is the same!) Excellent day - even the weather kept fine and dry (except for a few runners in class 3) Thanks to all the officials and marshalls for a smoothly run event. PaulB
  21. Andrew - thanks for pointing that out - in the Competitors Korner results section, the results under the 2009 Curborough 2 title, are actually the Loton park 2009 results - I hadn't spotted that. PaulB
  22. I wouldn't mind a copy too if possible. On a similar vein, can anyone confirm the class 1 record for Curborough? On the Class Record section of Competitors Korner, it is 63.96s by Mat Jenkins in 2007. However, looking through past event results, it seems that Andrew Willoughby did 63.40s in August 2009 Any ideas? PaulB
