  1. Many thanks to all involved in the organisation of a great Awards lunch. Lovely venue with marvellous food and service. Special thanks to Mel for so much work in the background. PaulB and Bec
  2. I have added one of these here to each ratchet strap. The ratchet sits on the bed of the trailer forward of the rear wheels. The strap goes through the hook, which sits in one of the conveniently placed holes in my BJ trailer, over the rear wheel and hooks to another conveniently placed hole in the trailer. PaulB
  3. Silicon hose set required for 2003 1.6 K series (no heater) Anyone got one kicking around? PaulB

Elwood -what type of roll bar do you have? I have a petty strut which you can have (for a donation to NTL) if it will fit. I used it on my 1998 car (single diagonal FIA roll bar) I am helping out at the Intro to Sprinting day, so could bring it along with me. PaulB
  5. Thanks for the suggestions. I had assumed that the LED flasher unit would not handle the larger current drawn by a filament lamp - will give it a try. Failing that, there are LED lamps with the same bayonet fixing which I could try. PaulB
  6. POBC: My (new to me ) 1992 130 Landrover has been fitted with LED side / brake / indicator lighting by the previous owner. I am going to fit a tow bar (it has never had one on!) to tow the Caterham. My BJ trailer has standard filament lighting. The side/brake lighting will be ok to wire, but I suspect will I have problems with the indicators as I believe the LED indicators run off a different type of flasher unit to the standard filament lamp type. Any thoughts? Is this likely to be a problem? Am I going to have to replace the indicators with the original filament lamp type and run a standard flasher unit so that the trailer indicators will work? Thanks PaulB
  7. Doesn't Robs's success over the past two seasons, + 3 class records suggest that these Class 1 changes are unnecessary? Two of the Sigma held class records are on circuits where you would have thought top speed was very important. Aren't the torque characteristics of the engine of equal or even greater importance than the rev limit? Isn't this a case of 'if it isn't broke.....' ?? Just my 2p worth PaulB Edited by - magister on 13 Nov 2013 20:26:32
  8. Shameless lift to the top again (just in case )
  9. I hope the class 1 160 / 165 doesn't refer to power! What power does the tracksport conversion deliver? We will need to think of other ways 😳 to slow him down........ 😬 PaulB Edited by - magister on 9 Nov 2013 20:27:19
  10. Looking for a Defender R380 gearbox - (must be Defender rather than Discovery box) for a 300TDI conversion. Any condition - don't mind if it needs reconditioning etc (if it is cheap enough ) Anything considered Cheers PaulB

  21. I have unbolted the battery master switch (2003 Academy) to repair a dent in the scuttle. I am ready to put it back together. There is a wire connected from the back of the switch, to a ballast(?) resistor which looks like it should connect to one of the mounting bolts (to earth it) - I'm not sure whether it was connected originally or not. Any ideas whether a) it should be connected b) if it was disconnected, what will happen if I connect it? Any ideas?? PaulB
  22. Pit monkey now entered Simon - are triple drives allowed? 😬 PaulB
