    With the greatest respect your best investment would be in some driving tuition. Much much cheaper and far more satisfying. The ethos behind the Fireblade was simplicity why make it complicated.

    How do you know the axel is the weak part? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Stop being a tart. If it is going to break you will know about it in no uncertain terms. Enjoy it until it does.

    Your engine was modified wasn't it. I ran a standard ( second hand ) engine for 4 years without a problem until I was stupid enough to forget to do up an oil union properly. Were you using full synthetic oil? Was it bike oil? All I can think was it was bad luck or continued bouncing it off the rev limiter.

    Visited Novatech in Slough yesterday. Bernie Bowden was very helpful. A modern Rolling Road and Flat floor scales worth a call 01753 521555. They look after some Britcar series cars. Managed to get 99hp from the rebuilt pre-cross flow . All I need to do is fix the distributor to get the quoted figure of 120hp - I wish.

    You drain both the tank and sump. Other parts are Honda. I have a throttle cable if you are interested. which senders do you need?

    There appear to be are more Caterham parts than Lotus. What are all those holes in the bonnet for? It is truly horrid
