  1. Help chaps. I've just removed the old electical sender from the front of the oil filter housing. I found two wires, one connected to the sender terminal coloured orange with a red trace and one red wire, fitted to a spade terminal and ziptied to the wiring loom but not connected to anything. PIC I've removed the standard gauge from the dash and found (apart from the bulb circuit) one white, one black and two green wires. PIC F355GTS above suggeests using the existing wire, but there isn't an orange/red at the gauge. I don't think even Caterham would make a loom with wires that change colours at random. Can anyone suggest which wire to use? (tracing with a meter is going to be a PITA as my arms aren't long enough to reach under the front of the engine from the cockpit ) (Also, how does the electrical sender work with just the one wire connection? Don't you need two for a circuit?)
  2. BTT and to say any offers considered. It's on fleabay and if it doesn't sell it'll get skipped.

  4. @Grim Reaper - you need a space either side of the smiley
  5. @Titanium7 - to be clear, you sit in the car with your lappy wired to the Emerald and adjust the map at the MOT station? Is that valid?
  6. The garage the MOTs all my cars have a device similar to the old krooklock (spelling?) that braces against the bottom of the steering wheel and holds the accelerator at the desired position.
  7. Short answer is yes. Longer answer is I have a hood with a 7 on it. If the hood is up and I'm driving along and then it starts to rain it's OK. If the hood is up and the car stands in the rain, then I start to drive it drips on my left shoulder. In other words it seems it leaks when it gets saturated. Hope that helps
  8. How often should this be done?
  9. Gentlemen, please. Roger's post was out of character. He has appologised and removed the post. Christian: I think that there are a couple of "Trolls" who lurk on here. They should stop. Roger is not one of them. Can we move on now and discuss watches, coffee makers, PDF's, planes, secret desires, the government, Top Gear, internet scams, the opposition, the NHS, 3D printing, airfix, robots, reptiles, books, films, old gags, new gags (I'm thinking UKIP) OR perhaps we could find time to pass comment on cars...?
  10. "If" one was going to buy a used car / right off in order to get a donor engine to rebuild as a project / upgrade, would / should the mileage of the donor engine be a consideration? Assuming the engine will be stripped, cleaned, bearings etc checked, does the block or head "wear" (porosity? mechanical / prolonged heat stresses? chemical changes? etc) Ta,
  11. Win7 & Chrome Win7 and IE8 (works) Android various JK I think it is on a timer, as it only logs me out on a device that I haven't used for a while (at least 24hr, maybe 48)
  12. Please can we have one? Novelty of having to keep logging in from various devices is wearing thin.
  13. Win7 & Chrome, and "new and updated" takes circa 8 seconds, but feels slower than that when I'm used to other sites.
  14. Windows7 & Chrome browser. first line here (carriage return) Second line here(shift+return) <div>third line here(within div div)</div>
  15. I've just put the windscreen back on after a summer aero, as I am running down to DVA & Emerald in two weeks. As per other threads on here I've re-made the connections for the heated glass with bullet connectors. Is there a simple way of testing the the heated screen / circuit is good after my fiddling?
  16. Everytime I open the forum on my works PC (just for testing purposes you understand) it tries to install RealPlayer. Stop it, it's not nice.
  17. Now Roger, at least your trying to help rather than bitchin' - good on you http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.png
  18. For the eagle eyed... if I hover my mouse over the dodgy link just posted by Anthony, the link is underlined and the underline extends beyond the text, i.e. the extra space character is underlined. Wierd
  19. Roger that doesn't work for me - web based Gmail user. Also, if I hover over you your smilies I can still see your mail address, so no real benefit over posting your address in clear text to be cut'n'paste'd
  20. I run Win7 and Chrome. The first link above serves me a page not found. A little strange is hovering over both links shows me the same address.
  21. The left hand bank of lights don't light up as they're "operational warning" lights - so the hazard switch lights up only when you have the hazards on etc
