Thanks for all the advice Guys Must say, I had not thought about the gearbox imput shaft length, where do I get one to replace my existing if I use the Raceline housing and what sort of cost to self fit ? Will this move the gearbox back on my car as Rob G has had to do with his? By how much and does it affect the postion of the gear lever? Paul Thanks for the offer and I will give you a ring. Simon, have seen you Web site some months ago and did not realise you have added so much more, I am sure this will useful.   2. I am about to embark on a Cross Flow to Duratec conversion of my ‘97 Di Dion and no doubt will need lots of help! I have already acquired a 2ltr engine from a Mondeo. Is there anyone in the Yorkshire area with a Caterham Duratec I could look at? Any one with experience of the SBD throttle kits (203 BHP)? Do I need a new sump or can I "scrape by" with the existing? Can I use the existing alternator or perhaps my existing one with modifications. Best exhaust manifold and silencer? SBD or Raceline bellhousing? These questions are just the start! Regards Andy D

  4. Faber Garage in York have done mine for the last 5 years. The owner Alan has built west thingys and is now doing a Cobra and has some knowledge of special cars. They do it while you wait and I have had no problems.
  5. I have a pair of 40's but on a crossflow manifold and jetted for a 1600.From my 97 car, and are clean atidy with 28 k worth of fuel through them ! Will be converting to Duratec on boddies soon. Any good? Regards Andy
  6. Is a Kent BCF 3, followers,chain,tensioner and Vernier pulley any use. Bought in 2001 new and now has approx 10k miles use. I am converting to a Duratec so I will be splitting the engine. I have used it in my 1600 crossflow Andy D
  7. Hi Tim I will be selling mine in the next couple of months(Max!). It is the complete manifold, 4 into 1 collector and silencer with heat shield. Its in good condition except for the inevitable scrapes on the bottom of the silencer. It is on my Crossflow at the moment. Send me you mail address and I will send photos. Regards Andy
  8. Is the hole through the bell housing treaded? I so could you drill it out to form a clearanec hole and then hold the cable with nuts on both sides of the bell housing? I gues if you can get a reasonble size it may allow the cable through.

  10. 1990 H reg TOYOTA MR2 Manual Petrol MR2 GT Turbo 1990. Black,solid roof. New turbo, clutch and all drive belts. Half leather and suede seats. All normal GT spec.rev 3 rear lights +rev 4 clear front indicators.The only mods to anything mechanical is rev 3 turbo springs which sit 25mm lower and a HSR turbo elbow and decat pipe. It also has a Cliford Concept 600 alarm with turbo timer,remote start,window lift etc. This car has had one previous owner who brought the car into the Uk (Dec 93 )from Japan when he returned to work here and the paperwork includes the import documents. A full service history including work carried out in Japan and the original emergency flare is in the cockpit ! My son is the second owner and has run the car for two years and have genuine reason for sale.Apart from the few little upgrades it’s a real clean standard car tel Ian on 07739344142 £3850.00 o.n.o. The engine has a Kent BCF3 Cam and vernier pulley and some gas flow work ahs been done to the head which has standard valves. It does burn a little oil but runs well. All the above from a 1996 de dion car and has done 28000 miles.

  13. I have just replaced my tacho as the needle damping was broken (1996 Crossflow). The replacement is the later Caterham type which I got second hand and I have modified the wiring and fitted the short loom which has the 6 pin plug which goes into the instrument. The car starts OK but the calibration is wrong and under the bung on the back of the tacho is a row of 6 micro swiches which I guess need setting for my car. Anyone know the correct switch settings?
