  1. Is there a standard place to fit this to give it the "factory fitted" look rather than a bodge job in my garage? Many thanks Mark
  2. My 7 is one of the late 1600 sprint crossflows GTS model and seems to have the 100bhp later version of the sprint engine. Please can somebody tell me how this differs from the earlier 110bhp sprint engine. Many thanks. Mark
  3. Paul, I use the below for all year round training both on and off road. You can spend several hundred pounds but I just cant justify that on something as boring as lights. The Smart lamps create enough light on totally unlit roads or trails to still enjoy getting out in winter and run time is good. Im on about my 6th year now with same set so recahargeable battery is OK. You do however get a bit of vibration though the bracket but I guess that's where the cost saving is. http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/list_search.asp?keyword=smart&Make=&Category= Mark
  4. Mines on a CTEK all the time but care as you do need to keep an eye on fluid levels and top up every couple of months as plates do become exposed if you leave it.
  5. Let me know if ever you have anything planned. Can't get out that often but would be nice to say hello sometime.
  6. A nice short blat then!!!!!!!! Are the early morning weekend bacon butty runs still in existence locally?
  7. This weekend heading up towards the Alma. I was out cycling with the kids.
  8. Approx 10am this morning on the bye pass above Skipton heading towards Gargrave.
  9. BRG with yellow nose on car park under the cable car. Sorry couldn't see reg from Aguille du Midi cable car.
  10. I know this has been done to death in the past but does anyone know if the 1989 Dedion roll bar on ebay at the moment would fit a 94 long cockpit live axle. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&item=190004927012&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Many thanks
  11. Thanks, that's great. At least I know which end to start at now. Mark
  12. I was about to post exactly the same question as I've scratching my head about this for a couple of days. Mine too is live axle, long cockpit 94 with completely enclosed floor. Before I start removing carpet etc could somebody please guide me roughly where inspection plate is on tunnel top. is is near the gear lever of rear bulkhead? Many thanks. Mark
  13. Thanks my first spotted. I had no choice on my way for MOT. Pleased to say no problems.
  14. I'm certainly no expert on this, so please don't quote me but I think what he did was ever so slightly enlarge the air hole in the jets in the carb to restore the mixture as it was running incredibly rich because the back pressure on the exhaust had changed. This took quite a few attempts increasing ever so slightly each time. Not something I would want to tackle but the money spent on the rolling road was well whorth it for the really noticeable diference it made.
  15. Thanks everyone.Had a bit of a fiddle and it improved slightly but decided to have it rolling roaded this morning. What a diffrence, it' never gone this well before. It seems that just before I bought the car the previous owner went from rear exit exhaust to side exit and it has completely alterred how the engine breaths a bit of attention to the jets has worked wonders. If anyone is interested I can recommend Rob at Minisport in Padiham. He has worked on ford engines for all of his career, previously having been at Rallytune in Burnley who did work on crossflows for Caterham and Westfield in the past apparently.
  16. Please can anybody help me with the following and suggest what I should check next. I am relatively new to the 7 and techncal knowledge is a bit hit and miss. My car has a hesitation rather than a misfire. Plugs 1 and 2 come out a bit sooty, 3 comes out looking healthy and 4 wet. When idling if I remove plug 1 or 2 with insulated pliers the engines slows noticeably. If I remove plug 3 or 4 there is little or no difference to idle. So 3 and 4 dont seem to be doing much. If I pull the plug leads off with pliers and hold them close to plug there is a healthy spark sound on all 4. I have replaced plugs, leads, distributor cap and coil pack. Car is standard 1600 sprint on twin 40's.19,000 miles Just shanged oil which came out very black (not sure how grey it would look if water mixed in with it) but no evidence of sludge around filler cap or anywhere else. Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks. Mark
