  8. I didnt complain , i just pointed out that in my opinion the price wasnt right and an adjustment might aid a sale . I will leave it there .
  9. Steve if you buy a good quality aftermarket gauge from the likes of SPA it will come with its own dedicated wiring loom and sender , only that way do you know the two components are matched and the circuit between them isn't picking up additional circuit resistance that interferes with the correct reading . if you buy an unmatched gauge then your into trying different senders , hit and miss , most use similar resistance profiles but not all . There are gauge wizards on the market that can adjust ( only increase ) resistance to match the two . Even the CC gauges and senders are not always matched , I've just had Caerbont change the calibration of a temperature gauge so that it would correctly read !!!
  10. Another ( generally ) good day , not sure about the weather though ...... Thanks Simon and James , Get well soon Dave . Apologies from me for disrupting the last session in the morning with my excursion onto the beach . In my defence i would say that the recovery truck driver might have made a better decision if he had tried to pull me out the way i went in. As it was his attempt to pull me diagonally at a random oblique angle only succeeded in making matters far worse and creating the lengthy delay .

    620R cooling

IMPORTANT UPDATE GOOD NEWS FOR 620 OWNERS . Ive been in contact with one of the directors at Caterham and shared the details of the Mark W / Doctor modifications . It wouldnt be right of me to share the full written response i got but its fair to say it was positively received and has initiated Caterham to look at modifying what they are currently doing . I quote " your solution is essentially exactly what we have in mind although achieved in a subtly different way" - My guess its that they will be looking at a remote stat in lieu of the modified housing but that is only a guess . Other relevant info , Marks cries for help will be acknowledged and he and another customers cars will be modified .Additionally " [ after fully testing ] further down the line when we have a productionised product I think we’ll look to make it an aggressively priced update for cars in the field" The down side of the exchange is that there was no offer to pay for my R and D Anyway , i hope thats of interest , please dont follow this post up with cries of "not soon enough" , " should have been right in the first place " etc , Previous posts like that on this thread almost put me off sharing our work with the wider community .
  12. Have you spoken to Caerbont about refurbing them ? They repaired one of mine ( 6 years old ) for a very reasonable £0 . OK i did have a particularly special case ( turns out mine was a pre production prototype ) but they were really helpful . Only down side was that they were working on a 6-8 week turnaround recently - maybe that wont matter if the car is laid up over the winter ...
  13. Ive had an Odyssey on my 620 for 6 years , never had an issue with it . I wouldnt have thought a K needs more uuuumph to start than a Duratec I do leave it on charge 24/7

    620R cooling

Hi Mark Yes I think so , I guess some more driving in different conditions will be beneficial to highlight any potential issues but at the moment all seems fine .
