  1. Take off the section fixed to the bonnet and bend it up , refix. They have probably stretched down over time.
  2. Ive got some fronts !
  3. Buy the sub loom ( circa £10 ) and connect the charger directly to the battery .The sub loom plug can poke out from the corner of the bonnet by the windscreen pillar . You then dont have any issues of cigarette socket switch off or interference with the cars electronics. Have never had to buy a new battery on any of my P cars charged this way.
  4. Maybe coincidence but i have a 620 and a CTEK 5.0 and the battery doesnt like the CTEK , sometimes it works fine , other times it crashes. I have reverted to using an old banner charger which works just fine .

    620R cooling

Hi Mark Thats definitely an awful video but it looks as if you now have a very similar arrangement to that which Igor and i 'developed '.and wrote up for Low Flying .The circuitry is all identical , just detail is different. The only thing i cant quite see is where your expansion bottle connects - the small spigot on the thermostat housing ? CC have done away with the aluminium thermostat housing and used the plastic ford part ( cost saving there for them ) ,hose clearance near the supercharger must be very tight now ( although it looks as if the routing is now nearer the side skin ?) Are you sure you have a 95 degree stat now ? Thats in conflict with the fan switch on and off temps in the previous CC map ( fan on before thermostat fully open etc ) I think you will find the car comes up to temperature quickly and holds a more steady temp in colder weather ( mine does ! ) Thanks for sharing .

    620R cooling

Mark Thanks for the update . Any chance that you could post a few pictures showing the modification undertaken to your car ?
  7. Its related to the average weight of the anticipated occupant. Too many pies and pints consumed in the UK .
  8. https://caterhamsuperlight106.wordpress.com/tag/ap-racing-brake-master-cylinder-cap/ This is the type
  9. The standard caps can leak a bit on track . Best to change it for the AP bellows type . It means you loose the brake warning light if the fluid level drops but at least you dont get spillage .
  10. SKC You beat me to it , I was going to say exactly the same . Well done Simon and James , all your time and efforts are very much appreciated . PS much better weather today than last years visit to Donington - perhaps next years calendar could be arranged around the bright sunny days of the year
  11. Factory spring rates on the 620R are significantly higher at the rear than the 420R. the damper valving is also different.
  12. Ask Simon but i think its fully booked .
  13. The solution to 620 cold running is available , i helped co develop it and IT WORKS. It was all written up by me in Low Flying earlier this year and any competent Caterham owner could implement the same.https://6100ef74-38c4-4cc4-b213-902faf3c744c.filesusr.com/ugd/a3e364_2ffc471a99f8410fb2c7868da09405a5.pdf?index=true Andy at PGM is selling that solution ( with my agreement ) if one doesnt feel able to DIY . No Caterham 620 ( R or S -Factory thermostat or not ) has a properly regulated cooling system unless the modification set out in Low Flying is undertaken. Philip , if yours is a 2015 car it wouldnt have had a thermostat fitted from new , if it had the Caterham mod retrofitted ( post 2017 ) then whilst it may have a thermostat the housing the thermostat sits in will have a big bypass cut out machined in it which is why cold water rushes into the engine as per your post no 25.
  14. Re the cooling issue you need to read my detailed article from Low Flying last month ( or was it the month before ? ) That details whats needed to resolve the issues you describe and is the modification that PGM are now offering on a commercial basis.
