  1. Yeah that's what I was expecting. I was surprised that they'd blasted them, hence looking for a new supplier for the next batch.
  2. Hi, Can anyone recommend somewhere to re-plate/passivate a bunch of bolts and brackets/fittings? (Yellow zinc). Either local to me in Surrey/London (or Southampton where I work) or somewhere which will operate by post. I used a local place last time and whilst they looked great when they came back... There are a couple of problems with them. First off they blasted everything first making the threads "gritty" and the finish on the brackets "dull" rather than "shiny" and secondly after about 6 moths some of the plating is coming off in places so they can't done a very thorough job. All recommendations welcome. Cheers Mark
  3. Ah sorry can't help then. No slight on your abilities - just that I bought a pack of 10 of the white male/female connectors recently to make an extension lead for my (old fashioned) CTEK charger and so I have a load of spares :) P.S. <groan>current</groan>
  4. Hi Jonathan Which proprietary connectors are you needing? They changed at some point.   6. Great detective work Dr S and JV, you've got it! My top fuse is actually 7.5A but it's definitely the immobiliser, so I'll put that down to an anomaly. So to put this to bed, on my car (a 2010 R400 with push button dash) the fuse identifications are as in Dr Slotter's diagram. I've created an ident sheet and stuck it to the car.   8. Thanks, that owners manual is different from the one they gave me with the car (!) However it still doesn't match. The number of fuses is correct (18) but the identifications don't match still. I know for fact that the power socket on my car is at position R (My keyless immobiliser has it's own inline fuse). And the ratings of the others are nothing like mine. The mystery conitnues!
  9. Interesting stuff. My car was new in February 2010 in kit form and I built it myself. So they must have changed around 2009/2010. I will try to get an answer from Caterham and post back here if I can find anything out Cheers Mark

(like mine) : http://uk.caterhamcars.com/sites/default/files/styles/main/public/preowned/3_3.jpg?itok=vLtt8QDk If so then I believe that the switches control an "instrument control module" which determines which button is being pressed and what function to perform. I'd love to find a proper wiring diagram for this module but I've never been able to find anything. On "old" style dashes like this : http://www.mycaterham.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_175409/0037.jpg ... the hazard light switch was notorious for dodgy connections and consequent bad behaviour.

  13. Counting up from the bottom, the 10th one (Red 10 amps) is the 12v accessory/cigarette ligther socket. Will pull a few more and see what they do.

I see, it's a user context sensitive list - what a peculiar (and computationally expensive) implementation choice, but given the general departure from de-facto forum software conventions I guess I'm not surprised :) Cheers for the response anyway, at least I understand it now. (It appears in "Unanswered topics" but I have no idea why anyone would find that useful) On a related note, does anyone know the rationale for "Active topics" as well as "New and updated topics"?   16. Hi I wonder if anyone can help me identify the fuses on my car? Here is the fuse box : But it doesn't bear any relation to the fuses shown in the wiring diagram or the owners manual (for example I know for a fact that the bottom 10 amp fuse on my car is the windscreen wipers) Anybody ideas? Car is a 2010 R400 with the Superlight dash (Savage Motorsport switches) and Stack. Cheers Mark

  19. Is this an acknowledged issue? Frankly, having lost the referential integrity of the data (links from one post to another) and most of external URLs means that the data migration was a failure in my view. Are we ever likely to get this essential information back again? Cheers Mark

Oh yes I forgot the search engine defaults to "OR" and not "AND" <sarcasm>Of course it's completely natural that I'd want threads which mention either "Caterham" OR "Luggage", rather than threads which mention both terms within the thread title.</sarcasm> It's quite bizzare that someone would choose this as a default search mode; either they're a poor developer or have never had to search for anything on the internet. Even the string "CATERHAM AND LUGGAGE" only finds that thread as the 9th most relevant, with this http://www.lotus7.club/forum/chitchat/time-get-tow-bar-fitted-7 being the most relevant match) Cheers, Mark
  23. Hi, Is there any update on this? Losing the fidelity of the data during migration is a pretty serious defect in my view. Lots of good information has been lost; I search for old threads and seeminly all links to offisite URLs and to other posts are missing. There ought to be a redirect from the old format of url (e.g. http://www.lotus7.club/t.asp?id=190003) to it's new equivalent (not that I can find the new equivalent of that post now with the inadequate search facility). That would allow the internal post linking structure to remain intact if the links could be recovered. Thanks Mark
  24. Agreed. I only ever saw a request for help with Drupal migration work (something which I don't have any experience in). If there was a request for help with ideas and guidance about web forum usability or beta testing I must have missed it. I would have been more than happy to contribute and indeed I've raised my concerns about missing features on the old BC (although I cannot find those posts now on the new forum). Data/user account migration is always a PITA and I have no doubt those accounts with probelms will be fixed up soon - it's one time task so once it's out of the way we don't need to go through it again. Same with the performance and stability issues - these are common with new systems and can be ironed out in good time.
