  1. Hiya I have a R400 D which I built myself. As delivered the engine/bellhousing assembly had a filler bar installed to plug that gap. See here http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7266/7810219902_0ff2a6a584_z.jpg Hope this helps Cheers Mark

Hi James. Ooops sorry! Completely forgot about the pics. Here's a link to the build pics. -> https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13589857/SV54CAT.zip It's still uploading as I write, so leave it an hour or so to finish. Perhaps you can let me know when you're finished and I'll delete it. I've uploaded all the pics; no doubt there are many in there that you're not interested in. I'll see what other paperwork I have in my files. Cheers Mark Edited by - spiderlane on 24 Jul 2012 21:04:45

  4. My wife came home yesterday and said "I've just seen the coolest Caterham". After remonstrating with her (because my Caterham is clearly the coolest), I enquired as to why. She said that the "7" behind the grille was picked out in LEDs and looked fantastic. Anyone on here? Cheers Mark

Yep that's me (lived in Godalming at the time).Co-owned it with my best friend. Having kids and moving house (both of us) prompted a very reluctant sale. Have fond memories of that car. Indeed, even went on honeymoon to France in it. If you'd like any of the pics of the building of the car do let me know. All the best Mark

Ha! That's my old car. Hope it's giving you good service James. Cheers Mark
  9. Hi Andrew Have you tried giving it a bounce? Mine took a little while to "settle in" to a consistent height. Mark
  10. Hi 1360rallye - I had the same issue with my build, the ride height was very low to begin with. To get appropriate clearance at the front I had to wind up the springs almost to their maximum travel (i.e. much further than expected). Mine is an SV though with the wide track front. How about you? 11. I bought one of these last year http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190343086153#ht_991wt_1066 for exactly that purpose. Cheers Mark
  12. Hi I have a 2010 Superlight (with the new style dash, and cubby ahead of the gear stick). The antenna for the immobiliser is coiled round the cubby in the tunnel top. I have found that it's sometimes very reluctant to immobilise. I have to move the fob around in the tray trying different locations until it does. Sometimes it won't immobilise in time and I have to turn off the ignition and try again. Does anyone have any ideas about how to improve the reliability of the system? Do other people with the same system suffer similar symptoms? All info and tips gratefully received. Cheers Mark
  13. Thanks Mic, your knowledge and help is much appreciated. Mark
  14. Just about to refit the (alloy) plenum back on my engine - wondered if anyone had a torque setting for the cap head bolts. All info gratefully received. Thanks Mark
  15. Thanks guys. Would never have got to "fir tree" ! Suitable fir tree's located and ordered. :) Cheers Mark
  16. Aha! 2 great pointers, thanks. See I knew I was searching for the wrong thing. :)
  17. I'm usually pretty good at finding various odds and sods on eBay (and the like) but this has got me a little stumped. I'm after a few blanking plugs to tidy up some unused holes under the bonnet, but can't seem to find any. I'm probably searching using the wrong terminology Here is slightly mangled example of what I'm after http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8163/7166281950_4ac92a8b5f.jpg Any ideas where I can get hold of a few? Cheers Mark

Heh, heh. Yes it was raining. You can be forgiven for having the roof up. Good on you for being out and about in the less than perfect weather.

Blue with black wings. Roof up heading southbound on the A23 you pulled into the Esso; I was in a Volvo XC90 with the kids waving furiously at you from the back.
  20. Hi Jeff, Sorry to see that you're selling your car. Have you tried asking Caterham themselves for a price? I sold my old Caterham back to them a few years ago and they gave a very fair price, all things considered. (They were also completely transparent about how much they'd ask for it on the forecourt, which helped me feel that they'd dealt with me honestly). Good luck with the sale, Mark
  21. I'm intrigued by this notion that opening links in new tabs is the norm. I don't think I've ever seen this on a site. e.g. BBC News, Google, Wikipedia all load links within the window you're browsing in, unless the "Open in new tab" is invoked. Are you guys using a different internet to me? :)
  22. Thanks Bob, did you run a separate wire to each shell, or put the whole "loom" through one hole in a single shell and run the wire over the top of the headband, as per this picture? How did you secure the boom to the shell? Cheers Mark
  23. I have a Starcom Digital which works brilliantly with the lightweight earpiece/boom mic headsets. I also have a couple of Peltor Kids ear defenders which the kids use when in the car and I'm planning on modifying these by installing the Starcom SH-006 open face helmet kits so that they can be used as intercom headsets. I know a few people on here have already done this (Cannonball Bob?) so I was wondering if anyone had any pics of the install/finished product or any tips and tricks about how to best install the components (e.g. wire routing, soldering etc) in the shells. All info grateful received. Thanks Mark
