  9. Just contact your insurance company, and they in turn contact the windscreen company....who contact you. Tell them what you want, ie S3 etc, black, silver and they will purchase it from Caterham, as they are the only supplier...the windscreen company 'may' want the old one...mine didn't
  10. Dont Panic....its not in the Caterham, its in the transit! Expansion tank contains more oil than water...95% certain its the oil cooler, going to be changed... but how do i clean it out of the system...any top tips?
  11. Good point Ian, disconnect battery! Heat sheild, i made out of 1.2mm ally, had abit in garage, but most probably get some from larger B&Q. Attach it to manifold bolts, dont undo them, but use another nut on the same stud, theres still plenty of room ish to fit it, all trial and error. Regarding the alternator connector, brothers is ok, why it hasnt melted we dont know, but mine wouldnt fit on, so i had to cut the connector off leaving enough wire to enable it to be connected again if need be, then use some small spade connectors, heat shrink attached it that way...so far they are still attached
  12. Fitted 4-2-1 from Powerspeed last month...lovely bit of kit...seems a shame to fit It! The process went well, must admit car was up on a ramp, makes life abit easier, especially on the back. I used the same gasket as it was a metal one. If you have or can get hold of an air compressor, buy yourself a nibbler from Machine Mart, it's like a knife through butter! Cover area in white masking tape, couple of layers... I did make a rough template, by fitting the primary's to a spare engines, making a cardboard template and what ever primary fitted through the hole in the car, became the central point. Draw rough shape and nibble. Fit each primary as you go, do them up tight ish to get the correct position, once done finnish with file/fine emery. One snag...the first primary may hit/touch the connector to the alternator, so this had to be adapted. Secondly, fit a heat sheild it drys the starter out. Have fun!!

  18. Like you i painted mine before i aquired some genuine parts. Is it chrome or shiny ally? If its chrome doubtful whether it will take. If ally rub it down with wire wool and put Special Metal primer on it, leave to dry overnight and then spray with Hamerite Satin Black, but leave it a few hours between light coats. Dont paint it by brush it looks........not very nice! Take your time!
