  1. Can anyone tell me the thread size of one of these? TIA Jon
  2. and they are less than half the price of the Spa mirrors (which must come with a big tub of KY 🙆🏻)
  3. How about these here I have them on mine and they are arguably better quality than the Spa mirrors. They have grub screws to tighten on the ball joints so avoid the PITA faffing with the Spa type. I don't think they are available with convex mirrors though but I prefer the flat anyway.
  4. Having just gone from carbs to injection on my VX there is no way i would go back! It's a much more pleasant drive now, has given me a minimum of 20lb/ft throughout the rev range and spits bigger flames than before It's also noticeably louder than with the 45's i think due to the high exit line out of the bonnet and not having the K&N end plates....
  5. Set of 4 used coil on plugs as shown here and here These were bought new and have been used for less than 200 miles on my VX. They retail at £35 each from SBD. £50 for the set plus p&p.
  6. I bought my car 12 years ago and it came with bare carbon wings. They llok as good now as they did then.
  7. Photo of my modified standard bracket here
  8. Anthony, where do you leave your car and trailer once you've got to the Alps? we're thinking of doing that this year but wondered about the safety of leaving them for 2 weeks. Thanks Jon 😬 (offline replies gratefully received)
  9. Peter, where do you leave your car and trailer once you've got to the Alps? we're thinking of doing that this year but wondered about the safety of leaving them for 2 weeks. Thanks Jon
  10. I seem to remember it only needing a good wiggle and without removing the dampers - it was a long time ago though.... Can't say i notice much difference running without one.
  11. Heading northbound at 12ish. I was heading the other way in the tintop (delivering bits for my re-build)
  12. from the 7FAQ here "I've noticed on several peoples build sites that they have stripped the threads on bolts while torque-ing them up. If you put any substance that has lubricating properties on the threads, such as Copper Slip or 'Loctite', you MUST use a lower torque value (multiply original torque value by 0.7)."
  13. Just to confuse things further there are DTH bodies from AT Power here although i can't find much feedback on them. The QED bodies are only available direct but the other types of Jenveys are freely available.
  14. Pads are listed here £19.10 from Camskill here
  15. I have a Superlight cage fitted on my '91 chassis - it just need the extra bushes on each side to be brazed on by Arch. I can check the shock mounts tonight and let you know what i have. Jon
  16. Hi Ian, Got that thanks. Jeremy, haven't received email yet?
  17. Hi Jeremy, The wipers are black. Jon
  18. Due to an immenent house move i thought it might be time to have a bit of a clearout. The following bits are now for sale: Wiper arms and blades - VGC £15 +p&p Clutch release bearing as here £10 +p&p pair of 7" chrome headlights. One Small chip on the inside(?) but not holed and excellent otherwise £50 + p&p Pre s-type leather seats - no headrests but with runners. Good condition. £100 Petty strut for FIA bar inc bolts £15 Gonads or collection on the last two items due to weight and my lazyness. Can possibly deliver around north M25 region.
  19. Sounds like you have the Vauxhall Race Damper. Much beefier than the standard damper and valved specifically for the VX Caterham (or so i was told). I'd stick with them and get them re-built. Google came up with: KBSS Ltd, Unit 3, Swannington Road, Broughton Abbey, Leicestershire, LE9 6TU. Tel:01455283407
  20. Preferably Coscast and fully dressed but anything considered. To replace a now scrap head.
  21. I have a set of 13x6" if your interested?
