Probably a dumb question, but why are the Vauxhall SOHC engines fitted with the sump foam baffle when engines such as Ford Crossflows are not?

Hi All, Can anyone confirm the above engines are fitted with a sump baffle in the form of a "foam pad". (The Workshop Manual I have refers to a sump baffle but is not specific on its type). Also, if a foam baffle is fitted are there any opinions out there whether it is actually needed. If such a baffle is present, I am wary of it deteriorating and sections becoming detached causing oil way blockages and other mayhem. (The car use is mainly for touring and blats, rather than any racing or trackdays). I understand some K Series engines may be fitted with foam sump baffles,so I guess any thoughts on their need/suitability would be relevant. Thanks, Ian

I think originally "Super 7 Sprint" was fitted to the 1600 Sprint and "1700 Super Sprint" was fitted to,surprisingly, to the 1700 Supersprint. -
Thanks for the suggestions re Sevens and Classics. Their cars seem to be live axles. Also I was hoping for a private sale. (Incidentally, I would recommend S&C as a dealer to anyone, I have dealt with them in the past and they were excellent)

I have wide feet and got a pair of Lonsdale Trainers (Benn Model, I think). Fit me well as my normal size which is 10. Got them from Sports Direct, cheap. They are slip on.

All things considered I think it was much better to have separate “For Sale” and “Wanted” Sections. More User Friendly, easier to navigate etc. I think we should revert to the previous separate sections.

A pair of Hormann Up and Over Garage Doors. 7ft x 7ft. Aluminium doors with Decograin Golden Oak external finish in black frames. Remotely electrically operated. Doors are excellent quality and in as new condition having been fitted for less than a year. I am replacing the pair with a single large door. Would prefer to sell as a pair at £600 but may sell individually for £350 each. (Price includes all operating mechanism and electrics).

Hi Stu and Rog, I think the Cables are from VX and Crossflow. Looks like from Ian's comments above they are not from a K Series. Regards, Ian

Hi, As you have seen I am advertising throttle and clutch cables on Blatchat. The Ad stated these were from an HPC or Crossflow. One or more of these may actually by for a K Series, as I had a Supersport a few years ago, and the cables were from the depths of the garage, so I'm not quite sure what they do actually fit.
