    185/70/13?

Ah, that lovely tractor effect 😬 Bite me 😬
  2. So now BECs are disadvantaged 'cos lanky passengers are gonna be uncomfortable - lol. Not that I care about this much, but I had a shortened passenger footwell with the car engine in and it was never an issue. Bite me 😬
  3. I bought 8 bigheads direct last week - give them a ring on 01202 574 601. Came to about £11 or so, inc. P&P. Bite me 😬
  4. Doesn't Brent know a thing or two about donkey dicks? Bite me 😬
  5. The ones on sale are the older construction (or at least that's what BMTR told me when I enquired). I'm guessing Caterham will sell you the newest version if you buy them now. Got mine direct from Avon though (free fitting). Bite me 😬
  6. I'm actually looking for a grease gun with a flexible 'nozzle' to top up my trunnions with EP90, so if you have no other use for it then I'll buy it! James Whiting are out of stock. Any other recommendations on where to source a cheap one? Bite me 😬
  7. I don't know when CC changed from trunnions to spherical bearings, but I don't think there are any standard Ks with trunnions? Bite me 😬

    Honda Power

and sounds like Bite me 😬
  9. Thanks - I will probably chop the threaded bit off and glue the bugger on then Bite me 😬
  10. My dash display system (Mychron) comes with a magnet + sensor to give speed reading. The magnet has a male thread on it (M4-ish) and I think someone on another forum said they tapped into the head of one of the bolts securing the brake disc to the hub and screwed it in. I was wondering if this is OK to do? Seems like a neater way of securing the magnet than sticking it to the wheel rim. Bite me 😬
  11. until stock of the 'old' CR500s is depleted i guess. Bite me 😬

    Ali U-channel

Don't suppose anyone has some spare ali u-channel - the sort that is used to strengthen the floor pan when fitting Tilletts? Just need 1 piece and can't find anything of that width at B&Q.... Cheers. Bite me 😬 Edited by - Ferrino on 15 Oct 2005 17:24:29
  13. If anyone else has been trying to get through to Andy recently, there has been a problem with his landline, but you can get him on his mobile: 07944 311 271 Bite me 😬
  14. How involved is it to make a fibre glass airbox? How do you mould the shape? Cheers! Bite me 😬
  15. Glad you've kept on with the project - it'l be worth it I think you need to decide if you want to use a mechanical or an electronic paddle mechanism. If you want the latter, then you'd probably want a mechanical backup too, which would likely involve placing a lever on the tunnel (this needn't be too involved though - mine is a simple pivot which just bolts through the ali tunnel and pushes/pulls a rod, although I may strengthen.). So if you're aginst this, then I guess a mechanical paddle system is the only way to go. I haven't seen the STM paddles in the flesh, so I'm not sure exactly how much clearance you'd need, but even with my electronic paddle system, I had to pull the wheel out a bit from the dash. I'm sure a home-brew mechanical paddle system would be do-able, using your cable. FYI, I'm using the Kliktronic electronic gearchange system, with a lever on the tunnel as a backup. For my paddles, I basically drew up something to suit my MOMO wheel and got the machine shop at work to do their magic. I then placed some microswitches and used some springs on short bolts to set the throw resistance and length. Took me ages to finish but well pleased with the result. I'm now remaking the gearchange linkage which links the mechanical and electronic devices to the gearbox...... A couple of piccies of my paddles here and here. If you're considering the electronic route, Graeme Finlayson is currently selling his old Kliktronic & Translogic setup on EBAY - this is exactly the same system as I have (the Translogic is the ignition-cut part, for full-throttle upshifts 😬). Bite me 😬
  16. And dont forget your L7C 10% discount! Assuming they still offer this. Bite me 😬
  17. Lancelot - my bespoke 4-2-1 manifold cost £700 (by no means cheap, but I had quotes of around £1200 for the same job from other companies). This is in stainless and includes linking it up to my bike can. The welding is pure class - Andy is a bit of a perfectionist 😬, and he has a great deal of experience of which dimensions work well with my engine. Plus he was the only exhaust fabricator I spoke to who actually gave a **** about looking after my 7 (just been reskinned and repainted!). Bite me 😬 Edited by - Ferrino on 2 Oct 2005 00:12:44
  18. Sure, might as well put the number up here then! Andy Fraser (Promotive): 01827 875 888 Bite me 😬
  19. I've just had a bespoke 4-2-1 stainless exhaust made for my bike-engined Caterham, by a company in Tamworth (near Brum) called Promotive and am very pleased with the results & service. Mail me if you'd like some contact details . Andy fabricates British Superbike exhausts, so he's pretty au fait with bike engine manifolds and is a top bloke! Bite me 😬
  20. Really should get my 🙆🏻 in gear, I know - knew this website malarkey was too ambitious! Will try and take some more shots ASAP :) Bite me 😬
  21. No interesting & exotic engine installions please - we're a Caterham club you know! Bite me 😬
  22. Can't recall for sure, but I think my old Weber DCOEs liked to see 3-4 PSI. It's in one of the Weber books/manuals though.... Bite me 😬
  23. One of my most used 'tools' is my titanium stepped drill-bit: it basically makes holes from 4mm through to 22m, in 2mm increments. Looks something like this. Bought it from Halfrauds for £12 or so. Bite me 😬
  24. I'm fitting the standard R1 silencer to my bike-engined 7 - should have some pics by the weekend. Main advantage for me was the price (£20 for an excellent used one) and they're pretty light (and the cosmetic carbon sleeve looks ace). The standard R1 can is baffled, so is a bit more restrictive than the straight-through race bike cans, but this should make it quieter. It's not repackable, but at £20 they're disposable! Bear in mind that the tailpipe may need modification on a 7, such that it doesn't melt the rear wing. Bite me 😬
