  1. Gary, mines coming off in the next few weeks (just waiting for the CC K Series Dry Sump Kit to arrive). It's in great condition with just a little of the usual front fin scrapes and with no cracks. I had the area around the sump plug welded and strengthened when I had my engine rebuilt last year but other than that it's completely standard. How quick did you want it? 2. Blokko, many thanks, that's very useful info as I do have an immobiliser and I don't have an FIA cutoff switch! Although the car gets used quite a bit in the summer, it doesn't in the winter or during occasional 8 week stints in Afghanistan so it would seem sensible to fit one. Another job added to the list, good job the car is off the road until April 😬
  3. Thank you Mark, sounds pretty straight forward. And who's Peter? 😬
  4. Mark, thanks. I take it after drilling the rivets there is enough 'give' in the ali that it bends enough to tuck the blanking plate under without cutting it? Did you then drill through it to redo the rivets?
  5. Phil, according to the Banner website the 53034 Banner is 8kg and the PVR22 is 6.5kg. Not a massive saving admittedly!
  6. Potentially numpty question but hopefully with a straight forward answer. I got rid of my heater recently and fitted the blanking plate from CC. Despite it being too big, I needed the to use the car (those blats do't drive themselves!) so I did a temp fix. Well now is the time to sort it properly. What's the best way of making a neat and tidy job, should I trim the top or can I drill the scuttle rivets out, bend the metal away and 'tuck it in'? Also, do these blanking plates come like this on the factory cars? http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2890/11010558224_cdd954820f_b.jpg
  7. Standard Caterham Banner Battery and Tray. I think it's 4 years old, but it could be less (I've owned the car 3 years and I *think* its was fairly new at the time of sale). Anyway, I've always kept it topped up and on a conditioner and never had a moments bother with it. Getting rid only because I'm fitting a dry sump and want a gel battery that lays down. Complete with tray and securing strap (tray needs a clean!) Yours for a donation to NTL. Collection from SN6 near Swindon.
  8. Cheers Kev. I've ordered it this morning anyway and I'll report back on what it's like. The rated CCA is 300A (700A Peak) whilst your PVR25 is rated at 265A CCA and 680A Peak, so it should be up to the job. £50 delivered for the battery and brackets seems pretty good to me too
  9. As part of my winter refresh (more threads to come on this later on!) I'm fitting the CC dry sump kit which means moving the battery. I'm ditching my 4 year old Banner anyway and I thought the Ultramax NP20 would fit the bill nicely, esp after reading the thread on it. However, I've just seen this PVR Clubsport 22 here on ebay. Reading the blurb on the PVR website seems it would be well suited and it's well priced with the bracket too. Any thoughts or experiences?
  10. Amp and speakers now sold. Will accept £20 for the stands if anyone is interested.
  11. Just upgraded the last room in the house (my home office) to Sonos, so my amp and speakers are for sale (I'm keeping the CD player for sentimental reasons!). The Amp is a Kenwood 3020SE (special Edition) and was legendary in the mid-nineties. Although the volume pot is slightly scratchy when turned it is in excellent condition and full working order. Asking £35. The Mission 760iSE speakers are also in excellent condition and perfect working order. The are complete with the front grills, some wall-mountable rear brackets (not fitted but included) and the Apollo speaker stands. The stands are 55cm high, can be sand filled and have carpet spikes. Asking £55 for the speakers with the stands. Buy the two together and I'll throw in the bi-wire silver speaker cable which is fitted with gold 4mm banana plugs for free 😬 We are just north of Swindon, about 10 minutes from J15 of the M4. 12. Yes, in perfect working order and great condition too. I'll drop you a BM tonight when I'm back from work to discuss further and will include some piccys
  13. Mine is being taken out very soon to be replaced with a dry sump. It's yours if you want it! I hope to have it removed by the end of November. Does that work for you at all?
  14. I must confess I haven't I thought it was a foregone conclusion it was the starter solenoid and therefore a new starter was required. Clearly I have some reading of the archives to do 😬
  15. I'm on the look out for a new starter as hot starting my car is becoming problematic. I'm inclined to just get the Brise one and be done with it but before I do any thoughts on this one here?
  16. Indeed, I can fit a lot in but I can't guarantee it's condition after being chucked out the back on a parachute 😬
  17. I'm doing Swindon to Broxbourne, Herts via M4 and M25 on the morning of Tuesday 22 Oct 13 and in the afternoon I'm doing Broxbourne to just south of Lincoln via the A1. The next day, pm sometime I'm doing Lincoln back to Swindon via the most direct route. My timings are quite tight, but please let me know if that can be of any use to anyone!
  18. Can you check your spam folder Eugene? I sent you an email on Friday 11 Oct 13 just after 8pm with all the details....
  19. I'd like to take a couple too with circlips. I'm refreshing the front suspension this winter so it'd be daft not to change them :)
  20. Lovely roulette green Supersport at Silverstone today for the BTCC qualifying reg BD13. Hope you had a great day I took my son for his 7th birthday treat and it was superb.
  21. Me too, I'd be interested in a group buy. Don't Carbon Mods still do them?
  22. 6sm, this is the external tank kit so I will need to shorten the footwell. It's fine with me though as I very rarely take passengers! Willie, Tom, depends on who you talk to at CC parts as to the extent of any supply shortages, I was given several slightly different versions. But suffice to say the DS18K kit disappeared from the website a while ago and I was told that the full kit would be very difficult to put together in the future. Individual elements (like the sump pan) I guess are dependant on the stock they have in at the time. I ordered the kit now as I didn't want to risk losing out!
  23. I've got one of the last DS18K dry sump kits coming from CC very soon which I'm quite excited about! My winter jobs list involves hooking the engine and gearbox out as the box is going to R&R for a service. And whilst the engine is out it makes sense to fit the dry sump (passenger footwell will be shortened too). Is this something that is quite straight forward to do myself? I'm reasonably handy with the spanners but any pitfalls that I should be aware of? Having been through the archives it seems some have had to make up new hoses, some not. My engine is an 1800K with CC roller barrels as per normal R300Ks and the car is an S3. Anyone with a similar setup car to comment? Also, I understand some dowty washers (26mm?) might be missing, obviously I'll see if any come in the kit. Any other bits missing? Finally will I need to replace my silicone coolant hoses, I've seen dry sump and wet sump sets so have to assume they are different? Thanks, Andrew
