  1. Ooops, looks like may have pressed save a few times too many. Gill, will happily swap with youhttp://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png
  2. Great Chris, thanks for arranging garages - just hope the forecast is wrong and they'll not be needed.

Just a quick thanks to everyone that helped out, whether it was advice, tools, spannering, moral support and even the offer of car for practice run, really grateful to you all. My limited mechanical ability would mean a job like that would have taken me a weekend and a few evenings too probably, so without your help it would have been a long trip for nothing. And thanks Mr Bramall for cooking for Matt even though he was in Skegness - very tasty
  7. Cracking time for first time there Oli, what was in those roll ups Also a big fan and will make the pilgrimage again, although still recovering from 850 mile round trip.
  8. You going soft Les? Ground's is a bit hard but get a decent self inflating mattress and after a few beers in clubhouse you'll sleep fine. It's not glamping but the facilities are ok, get a decent breakfast in clubhouse too. Go on Les, the more the merrier. On the other hand if the weather looks iffy we'll all be going B&B 😬
  9. Hello Matthew, any spaces left, felt pretty rusty on intro day after long winter and so a bit of testing wouldn't do any harm ?
  10. Great day and if hadn't already entered championship it would have helped make my mind up. The light rain made time on track interesting especially after a long winter absence from the 7. Gave passenger rides a miss - bad passenger- but as a spectator was impressed by speeds and can see there is a steep learning curve ahead. A lot of thought and effort put in by team so thanks to them for that and for giving up their time. Roll on Blyton 😬
  11. Hello Simon, you have blatmail.
  12. Thanks for welcome comp.scorer, looking forward to it immensely, last year got me properly hooked. Didn't participate as novice last year, if had taken it up 30 years ago maybe but didn't seem right in context of an extended mid-life crisis, left it to the young guns - although confess did let them know when I was quicker than them 😬
  13. Hello comp.scorer, dipped toe in water last year with Wigton motor clubs' cross border championship, entered for this year too but not a big 7 contingent so thought would join in fun with l7c.
  14. Entry submitted - time to start the fettling.
  15. Quoting Dad: However I suggest you keep your helmet on throughout the Intro day to save your blushes! Oh and any physical abuse 😬 Doesn't look like hiding behind username alias will be an option either as vx cars thin on ground in championship - wonder why that is? Have a strong sentimental attachment to the old vx lump, maybe it will begin to wear off once once cold hard truth of time sheets sink in.
  16. Cheers NCS, I will be more patient, actually appears I had problems accessing Competors Korner from my tablet lastnight, from laptop can see most of the information I was hunting for.
  17. Cheers Richard, kindly mot man, old school type 9 and in region of 200bhp - never been near a dyno, mapped from passenger seat whilst on some of the rural roads up here in Northumberland - not sure could get away with claiming no more than 190 though so looks like class 5. Altough notice from score sheets that there is quite a bit of overlap between times for classes 4&5 anyway - so what's all that extra power and sequential boxes for then Anyway, having alienated fellow class 5 competitors - before the season even starts, is that a new record? all fairly academic really for first few seasons at least - start slow, build up.
  18. Cheers cskip, a) being too eager then, now made mind up just itching to go! b) TB's, DS & LSD - does that qualify as std? Found score sheet for last season and great to see most classes well represented.
  19. After a few years dithering finally decided to take the plunge and enter club speed series, msa licence received and entry for intro day in post today, so no turning back now. I just have a couple questions for now: a) how to enter series, looked on competitors korner but couldn't find any links? b) what class will the trusty old vx 2l be in, and suppose interesting to know how many runners typically in class? Thanks in advance and look forward to meeting everyone in due course.
