As I'm changing to 13" wheels sometime next week I'm selling my prisoner wheels. All in good condition (apart from the spare which looks like it has had a knock) and the tyres (all yoko) have more than 6mm on them.
Looking for offers around £225.

(sorry for the poor timing Paul!)

I'll have a set fairly soon. I'm changing to 13" so my set will be going spare. They're a little tatty so how about £25.

Pierre,
The Supersport upgrade (second hand)is now going well. I've already fitted the ECU (which I had re-programmed to my immobiliser by a rover dealer)and I fitted the cams this afternoon. All I need now is the Cam belt from oily hands which I will fit next week.

Dear All, I'VE DONE IT!
Managed it by locking the flywheel with a screwdriver. I gained access through a small hole which is on the opposite site to the starter motor. Basically insert a sturdy screwdriver in so that located between the teeth then undo the bolt. It took a bit of heaving but wasn't that bad (the lever was about 2 foot long).
Thanks for all your replies, new cam belt and supersport upgrade here we come!!
Cheers

Rob, sorry if I'm wasting you time. I only asked these questions because I wanted to get it right and found that the haynes manual wasn't too clear IMO. Thanks for the replies but I still can't get the crank pulley off.
I've tried undoing it with the engine in 5th and my wife with her foor on the brake but there seem to soom give somewhere which is wasting my efforts. I'll give it a go by locking the flywheel.

I've currently in the process of changing my cams + cam belt. Firstly in the haynes manual it says to remove the crank pulley to be able to remove the lower cam cover. Is this the case as I can't get my pulley undone!
Secondly which timing marks have to line up with which when it comes to removing the belt and pulleys

Just a quickie. I'm Supersporting my seven this week and to make it look pretty I thought about painting the plug cover something other than black or red.
Can I paint it with any spray paint or do I need something that is high temperature (not sure how hot it gets?)

Oily, I've sent you an e-mail regarding the followers and the Cam belt. Any news.
On the subject of followers I'm replacing my cams next week and while I'm at it I'm going to check the followers (my 16k is a bit tickt too). When I put them back after inspection do I have to make sure they are full of oil or do I just put them back as they are?
Thanks
Gareth

I've changed to the 4-1 comp exhaust and found that the mid range was improved. Made overtaking in 3rd much better IMHO.
I've got a standard 1.6k at the moment but will be upgrading next week to SS. I've got the ECU in so its the Cams next week.
Romar,Yes the engine rev limit is increased to 7600.

Pete,
This is one of the first things I did on my Seven. Getting the bar over the diff isn't that difficult, It will go. One thing I had to do was to remove one of the rear shocks (if pushing bar from left side of car, the right one)as the bar sits on the outside of the shocks.
Good luck

This had just started to happen to my 1.6K series. The Car will start fine when cold but after a run the engine will hardly turn over. The battry is OK, the solenoid clicks but there doesn't appear to be enough to get the thing started. If I leave it for an hour or so it starts first time.

My car is currently sitting at arrowstar after the wheel bearing went after just 7000 miles. The following items seem a little odd;
Firstly the de-dion ears are thinner than normal, Secondly there is a shim between the ear and the bearing carrier and last of all the bearing carriers it wider (deaper) than normal.
Has anyone out there come across this before (caterham aren't forth-coming with info at the mo!)
I'm intersted to hear what anyone has to say as this is a factory built car which was owned by Caterham

Gridgway,
As it happens Arrowstar are doing a great job of fighting my corner with Caterham at the moment (see other thread re wheel bearing). I've had nothing but a good service from them which is more than I can say about another Caterham dealer I've had dealings with.
Thats better. Needed to get that off my chest wink.gif

Just to keep you updated and to ask a couple of questions.
The car is still at Arrowstar (in bits) and they have some quieries regarding some bits.

I'm going to be replacing the Cams on my 1.6K when I get it back from Arrowstar and while I'm at it I'm going to replace the Cam belt. Just wondering if its a standard Rover part or special to Caterham. Or is there a better replacemnt around.
Cheers
