  1. Sorry I didn't realise it was a single in which case I will pass thanks. Good luck with selling it!
  2. Hi I would like these if not yet sold? It's 2 Sunday entrance tickets I am after, but not camping. Thanks, McB
  3. K700 ALM spotted on Tues Aug 2nd by proxy on the oisland where the loights roight. Driven by man with female pax.
  4. My car is now back on the road and it needs a little tlc with the paintwork. It is the classic BRG with yellow nose cone, flat colours, non metallic. The paintwork is not perfect and car is 15 years old. What products do people recommend for bringing up the paintwork with some polish and protecting with wax? Meguiars seems to get plenty of plaudits but there are also some Swiss products that are good. Any recommendations?
  5. Ta muchly I'll shut up now
  6. Thanks all, so is there a wee kit to buy? And does the height of the catch tank matter particularly? I am guessing whatever fixing is used it needs to allow the bottle to detach so contents can be poured back
  7. Probably been asked a 100 times and more but I have a long black dangly thing coming from the engine which drips a bit of oil. The engine breather I assume? Question is do I need a catch tank for track days or will I not be allowed on? And if I do need one, what is the type to go for or do I borrow the wife's measuriung jug and apply some cling film?
  8. Do you have an electric fuel pump mounted on the rear bulkhead behind seats? I do (did) but it broke its rubber mounts, hung by its hoses and rattled around till I stopped after a while and tie wrapped it till I got it home. Check the nuts for tightness!
  9. I too have the black dangly thing and want to do track days now. Is the oil catch tank a must? If so what should I be doing about it? Homemade v purchased etc?
  10. Likewise, Sticky Slicks sounds ideal. So the 13x6" rims will take both a 185 and 205/60 profile? Out of interest by how much will the car drop when changing from 14x6" 185/60 profiles to 13x6", is it a whole inch?
  11. Ta Are the Toyo 888s mainly a dry weather tyre? I am looking for something akin to a slick with token cut outs if you see what I mean a la AO48s. Next question is wheels: what should I be considering in 13x6" for the standard dedion PCD? And costs? ☹️
  12. Picked up the car on Sat with new Powerspeed 7" can. What a difference. And a nice installation too. The old std Caterham unit was a duffer and always bottomed out - the design was way too low. The Powerspeed has a neat little S-kink section between the 4 into 1 collector and the can which raises it up nicely. Any yes induction noise is now dominant! Now for some track days......
  13. I am planning to do some track days and the car currently runs 185/60 AO21s on 14" minilites. These are fine for general road use and wet tracks but I am considering a second set of wheels and tyres for dry track use. Given tracks are generally smoother than roads I am not overly concerned about moving to 13" rims (8" on rear and 6" on front?) which will reduce ground clearance a tad but which seems a popular choice. But what about handling - is that combo a well proven formula? And tyre choice on such rims? Car is a 165bhp xflow de-dion 1996 vintage std chassis. No LSD (AFAICT).
  14. I guess they should be up to the job. Have no idea why the Facet supplied ones failed though?
  15. On a trailer about half 5 tonight yellow competition car stickered up with No 24 going south thru Winchester. I was heading north doing my 2 weekly London run o joy. Good day to be on a trailer really
  16. Hopefully not a problem as I am leaving the primaries alone, it is just the silencer and 4 into 1 union that is being altered
  17. Yellow 7 on trailer around HH or Uckfield or Heathfield perhaps heading west around 3.30pm - I was in the green/yellow nose 7 & heading east to Ashford.
  18. Could have been me but more like the A31 and only briefly at 1230 as I was on my way to Ashford in Kent via the A272. So not really me but thought I would cheer you up for making the effort! What colour Roadsport do you have so I might recognise you and where are you based?
  19. Rather alarmingly the kit supplied rubber mounts have sheared after only 3,000 miles. The unit is mounted on the wall behind the passenger seat so the pump is protected from road spray and I hope debris. But very concerned they have failed after such little use. Is this a rogue batch or should I be doing/using sthg else? Edited by - McBreadhead on 5 Jun 2011 11:34:07
  20. Thanks for the replies - looks like 7" is the way to go then. Re exhaust gaskets I already have 7 Workshop copper items which work fine - I assume you are referring to this area JBL or were you referring to elsewhere?
  21. I am having the exhaust can replaced by Powerspeed and wondering what noise limit to go for balanced against having too large a dustbin on the side of the car. They are suggesting a 7" can to cover all bases but it dominates the car whereas I am thinking perhaps 6" might suffice. Engine is a 1760cc Xflow with 4-1 primaries. I am in the south so likely to visit circuits like Thruxton, Goodwood, Castle Coombe, maybe others in Midlands. Castle Coombe has limit of 100db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm. Goodwood has a 105dB track day but I think they do quieter ones. Thruxton says Maximum 90db @ 0.5m/45 deg. Confused and looking for advice on this one please. Cheers, McB Edited by - McBreadhead on 20 Jun 2011 14:39:54
  22. Baz, Hi there, I keep hearing you through the trees of my friend's garden as you, ahem, blat past! Williams is closing the petrol station part and expanding the shop as the fuel tanks are old and would cost too much to replace. The workshops and MoT station behind is remaining however. McB
  23. Incorrect oil pick up height off the sump. Height should be the same as the internal diameter of the oil collector pipe, 6mm. We only had 2mm. Then replaced crappy sender as only got 2 bar on electronic guage while 4 bar on mechanical. So are you sorted now you have replaced/reinstalled the crankcase seal? Did mine last week when replacing sump and had to wait for an hour for gasket compound to go off. But driving without good oil pressure is like going to work forgetting your trousers 😳
