  1. For sale is my beautiful and very original Brilliant Silver 1995 Mercedes W124 E220 Auto. It is an absolutely lovely car with just 1 previous owner and low mileage of just 94k, which is backed up with a Full and Complete Service History (FSH). It was last serviced a few months ago by a Mercedes-Benz specialist. The car has its original number plates and dealer sticker in the rear window, having being supplied by Portfield Mercedes in August 1995. I have the original sales invoice for £27,080. The car is supplied with Pirelli tyres all round - both rear tyres were replaced a couple of weeks ago. The electric aerial was recently replaced with a new original Hirschman item and it has a recent battery. Other features include: • Original first aid kit • All books, manuals • All original keys • Mercedes alarm and immobiliser • 8 hole diamond cut alloys from new • Air conditioning • Non-sunroof shell • Auto gearbox • Electric aerial (new aerial fitted 2 months ago) • Unmarked anthracite cloth interior It will do around 40mpg on a run and running on 15" wheels, is supremely comfortable. The car drives beautifully with no knocks, rattles or vibrations. It rides and handles very well and performance with this engine and gearbox combination is very good. The car is very solid with no structural rust whatsoever and is HPI clear. It does however suffer from corrosion on the front wings like all W124s and there are a few marks/scratches on the car commensurate with age but nothing significant. The alloys could do with a refurbish as well. However, overall it is a stunning, original and very well cared for car which I have taken extremely good care of. It is fully and properly warmed up and used sparingly. Any questions, please let me know on 07946 115121. Looking for £1995. Thanks,

  3. A K superlight with a few tasty bits!
  4. I was in the silver Seven in the opposite direction..
  5. Phew - thought all our cars had suddenly gone down £5k in value!! Saying that, still very good value - someone will get a bargain. Edited by - Drifter on 6 Jul 2014 12:55:26
  6. I agree with Timbo. (Un)fortunately, I have one of the last K Series Superlights and it is utterly brilliant. So much so that I can't part with it - sorry! 😬
  7. I nearly bought this when it was up for sale last time but you obviously beat me to it!

    Yokohaha

Not sure on a 7 as the tyre wall is said to be very stiff, however the AD08R is meant to be a very good road tyre and highly performance orientated. I am actually thinking of putting a set on my tintop, an Integra R. However, given I am meant to be selling it, I am torn whether to change now or to sell the car slightly cheaper with some barely legal Michelin PE2s!

They are a Caterham race team. See dpr-motorsport.com Did a service, tyres and a few odds for me last year-good bunch and highly recommended.

DPR sorted me with one a few months back. Can't remember cost but its an AP racing part if any help?
  12. I had a 1982 Mini which I sold a few years back with 16k on the clock. Bought it many years ago from an old timer so was beige with a brown steering wheel cover! Great fun little car and regret selling it to this day, especially as I appear to have virtually given it away...
  13. I have often wondered this - I have a K with Apollo and been told different things. I try to do it hot when running, however the level does seem to vary depending on how hot it is.. Also was recently told by a certain Caterham race team that it is best to dip it one minute after switching off the engine (in which case the reading is higher than above). Told by another Caterham specialist that "anywhere on the hatching is fine" (with the engine running). God only knows what is the best way but luckily my car doesn't use any oil! 😬

    Tyres - again

I have done a search and read up but I need to change the 175/55 R13 CR500s that are on the car at the moment. Seems like the same replacements are about £120 each - are there any decent alternatives? I have used AO21s in the past on another car but think the profile of these (70 section) and AO48s may not fit without adjusting the wing stays? Any ideas before my wallet takes a beating?! 😬
