  1. I can testify to the good performance of the AO21s but unlike Nick I have managed to get 8k out of mine so I'm obviously driving like a pansy . I have never got close to the limit on the road and have had some really good thrills so can't recommend them highly enough. Not too sure about pressures but think general consensus is to run them at 18psi cold.
  2. Partner spied a red and black 7 at Purley station just now and has supplied photo. Very tasty. Are you a regular in these whereabouts?
  3. Ah Dave, so you're back from hols? As you can see, yet more woes following on from last summer's trials and tribulations. This seems so basic to me, yet again missed by the experts. Will call later to discuss this and an oily issue if convenient
  4. Demon Tweeks have the Purolator Pro Fuel pressure regulator at circa £20 which has an easy to adjust dial, calibrated 1 - 5. Think I'll go that route. Maybe fuel consumption will improve 😶‍🌫️
  5. Guys, Thanks once again. Will consult previous threads re this subject and advise outcome. This adds further fuel (sic) to my frustration with the 3rd party supposed experts who seem again to have missed a simple but major trick here and for which I paid a handsome sum to do a professional engine installation. In the interests of confidentiality I won't mention those involved however. Regards, Nick
  6. Alex, Many thanks for advice. Sadly the mechanical one was replaced by the expert 3rd parties who transplanted engine and recommended the fuel pump. Subjectively it sounds like it's whirring madly when I turn key to the ignition setting and doesn't seem to back off/slow down when carbs are primed. Starting is always a bit hit and miss from cold and it seems like it's over fuelling; when warm its fine. How much are these things - are they passive devices and is it a simple DIY job of cutting fuel line at appropriate point and inserting the device? Cheers, Nick
  7. Thought it was just my imagination but the garage absolutely reeks of fuel. I've suspected a fuel leak for a while now but a visual check reveals no drops. I'm running twin 40 DCOEs on a 1760 xflow and 15 mins after a recent run I felt under the K&N air filters, the backing plates for which were wet with fuel. Is this normal? Had a fuel pump fitted when I upgraded from the std 1700 xflow last year which seemed to coincide with smell. Would it be an idea to get a fuel pressure regulator to maintain 3-4psi as Oilyhands suggests? I'm also getting a worrying blow back on start up which occasionally results in whiteish smoke coming from carbs. However I'm guessing this is oil which is another problem.
  8. Out walking dogs and sure we heard a crossflow going over the Test and past the Mayfly pub north towards Andover. How sad is that?
  9. Yellow 7 travelling east on Upper Thames Street on Thursday about 2pm. I was on foot and tried to wave but was holding my bag of lunch. Nice day for it

AK, As I have a xflow awaiting rebuild I would like first dibs on the tuning manual please. What's the form for payment etc?
  11. Crisis averted thanks to Steve Newman, AO for Sussex and general top bloke Now on to the next task of fitting and MoT tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  12. It's a left hand one. Steve any chance you are around tomorrow as it sounds like you may have what I'm after? Let me know the damage, basically I am a prostrated eunach so name your price. 😳 Assuming this is what I need I will pass on the other offers and thanks for everyone's support. Nick
  13. Steve, I will find out which side and contact you. Thanks, Nick
  14. Sadly the 7 failed the MoT today on a split gaiter which I'm desperate to get repaired for a re-test on Sat morning. Does anyone know what type of steering rack my 1996 de-dion xflow powered car might have? I may then be able to get the part and fit in time. Optimum result would be someone with such an item I could buy if based within reasonable travel distance from Winchester 😶‍🌫️
  15. Around 9.15 this morning you heading west on A27 dual carriageway between Brighton and Lancing. But not G81 GBJ which is subjetc of separate spot.
  16. Today you were turning off A27 west to Shoreham around 9am, green with yellow nose. We was in anonymous spam can heading east. Is that Dracula's castle on the hill to north?!
  17. Fanks lads, will enquire thru Micheldever (when I can get through that is).
  18. Hi to all the Cheshire/N Wales blatters..........in typically disorganised fashion I may bring the 7 oop north this Easter, MoT pending. May tackle some of the Welsh roads and/or head up to Cumbria. Is there a local outing planned that we could slot in with?
  19. Dark green with silver noseband parked outside parade of shops. Were you out to get newspapers?
  20. I do my best to spot all I can from my stable and very wide platform. Saw dark green with silver noseband GN04 xxx? today at East Horsley circa 8.30am..........and I was in Amersham at the time..........will post separate spot
  21. If you'd carried on down that road you would have been shaken to bits. There's a pot hole down there that would swallow a 7 😳. Beware coming up the hill 🙅🏻‍♂️ So this is the beast post re-build eh? Very nice senor. On a separate topic do you know of a Yoko tyre stockist nr Hants/Surrey - my car in Winchester desperate to pass MOT in time for Easter fun?
  22. Need a couple of AO21s 185/14" and car based nr Winchester. Any reasonably priced stockists nearby? I got 6,500m out of the last set with fronts still good for another 2k or so. Anything else I should consider given its intended for dry weather but may have to drive if caught out by rain?
  23. What a beautiful car. You were coming off the hill through back road via Headley, I was was blocking the road in XJ8 going opposite direction.
  24. You were in dark blue 7 heading east between 3 - 4 pm , me in dark green Jag saloon - flashed and waved
  25. Some brave soul with hood up passing Chessington World of Adventures about 10pm Sunday night, still tipping down. Take it this was no pleasure outing?
