  2. Is there a good book around on setting up steering and what happen when each setting is out? My Toyota has been re tracked 3 times and still pulls to the left. I now have tracking equipment but do not know how best to adjust. I gather you can improve this pulling. The car is LHD and was last tracked with me sitting inside and that made quite a difference. I too have a problem with the 7 pulling to the left. I have set it up to the spec (Freestyle) and all is well with the handling now but it never use to pull. Have not had time toplay but would like more info before trying. I have set camber, caster, etc. The difference between 1 degree toe in to toe out was tremendous. R400 'S'AGA

No serious problems with my Raceline Duratec set up. Had it for 4 years including driving with roof up and in temperatures over 40 degrees. Reduced it with a change of tunnel top (trying not to sell here) but really never that bad before even in 35 degrees. Definitely CC have a problem, you are not the only person commenting, it seems to be everyone with an R400. Really can't see why it is any worse than my set up??? 7. We have 2 types. 1 is an alluminised glass cloth that we sew a needled glass into to make a sack in various thicknesses. This is used with our exhaust shield. The other is a more rigid glass cloth (still flexible), one side ally faced that can be stuck to areas to reduce heat, we use this in the engine bay against our carbon. We can sew the edges if required. RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON

  9. Make sure it is a similar chassis. Ones with handbrake in the centre are different to those under the dash. RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON
  10. Still need a little more help please (I think Mr Dobuy is working so can I ask someone else) as this is needed rather quickly Measurements of the floor?????? And where it changes direction, the corner near the diff is not essential just the main floor shape. It will help the customer if I pre cut it hence the need. His car is not around for measuring yet but the panels are urgent. 15. Wow 😬 isn't Blatchat great 😬 Thanks Ian for your offer. Neil, that is brilliant, thank you yet again. Possibly more bits for your SV now How are the test panels looking? RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON
  16. I wonder if someone with an SV could take a few measurements for me please. 1) Panel in front of vertical scuttle panel. Don't need cut outs unless someone has a panel off but just the main measurements. 2) Boot floor behind the tank. Think it is wood as on the standard chassis. 3) rough size of the turret. Just to check if it is the same as standard car. Wow what a difference

Ian 😬 😬 Might try and give the unmarked car a miss but yes think I should go back to the island 😬 Stephen. I purchased a camber castor gauge from Raceparts and a Trak-rite laser alignment gauge. Total price £252 inc vat retail for both. When you work out I have already paid £140 out for crap tracking I think it is a good tool for the garage. Trying not to advertise (not too much) Our company will be selling them along with lots of other accessories so I can get a small discount for you or anyone else. 18. Since last year when I had to replace some wishbones (don't ask ) I have been playing around with the tracking and never seem to have got it right. I was using some homemade tracking stuff that worked fine originally (or just beginners luck I think ). Last week I purchased a camber / caster product and some relatively inexpensive laser tracking equipment. Last night I played around and it is amazing the difference it has made by adjusting it accurately. At last my car feels more positive and confidence building. I was beginning to think it was just me and lost the desire to drive around bends any faster than a Sunday driver on holiday . Been through the brakes, cleaned them, new fluid etc and again they have improved. They are uprated front brakes and I just was sure they use to be better. Now just have to make sure I don't get over confident 😬 Now to sort out my Landcruiser 3 companies including a main dealer and none have sorted it properly!!!!! 19. Thanks everyone, still can't decide after all these postings. Perhaps I should go with the black 8 spoke but there again I might.................. Thinking hard, missed the possibility for Henrietta to pick them up now and would rather like to check CC's ones. Bluenose, thanks but need new for SVA. 21. Spoke to G Polley's today, that has put a different light on it. They say stick with 6" all round, so that is agreed. Now they sell KN wheels in minilte style at £55 plus vat 😬 CC are £76.50 plus vat ☹️ If we were to go with CC 8 spoke it is £85.10 give an extra cost of £141.47 on a set of 4 😬 So I think black / polished KN will win unless anyone has had problems???? Also they can do A021's for £36.60 plus vat. Henrietta won't need 48's or 888 yet George Polley will get it all Not bothered about them being the lightest for Henrietta, already lost enough weight with all the carbon, can't have her blowing away 😬 RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON
  22. Thanks for all the info 😬 and the arguments too Now more confused Lets debate price in the equation too So far CC: Minilite type £76.50 plus vat in black/polished or silver 8 spoke in black or silver £85.10 plus vat in6" Have not asked about 7" but 8 spoke in black or silver £119.14 plus vat. Any prices chaps???? Will ring around tomorrow. Only thing is Henrietta could collect tomorrow from CC so shipping would increase prices. Think it will be either black or silver, the grey she does not like Unless they do them in "hot pearlised pink" to match the car 😬 Do wonder if with the all carbon the 8 spoke more modern look might be better, there again I like the minilights RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON
  23. Thanks for that. I will have to see but think I will keep within a lower range than 26 or even 35 😬 See you at Croft RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON

  25. For CA07BON????? The car we are building for Henrietta based on a 1.6 standard k Classic but with an all carbon body needs some wheels so we can take it to the 50th 😬 (no engine though). We sold the 14" and are going to get some 13" with proper rubber. CC sell Minilites and the newer 8 spoke. Can't afford MB. Want some that don't need polishing and are pretty good with the powder coating so they will stay nice. Any comments about the current range???? Should I look else where? I know one company that sells a type of Minilight I should keep away from but can't remember who?? Next question. 6" all around with a 1.6k???? or is it worth having 8"??? Look nicer but do we really need them??? We have uprated front brakes but that is about it. What does the power of BC think????
