  1. Bri, YHMM Thanks Chris
  2. Darren/Mike Thanks for the replies. Darren, sorry didn't make it to the SOM as I didn't leave work until gone 8pm ☹️ Your idea of disabling to ECU, which in turn will not power the fuel pump sounds good, not sure how easy that is. Mike, Seven is 1.4SS with MEMS ECU, originally built as a racer. As for the wiring, must have pulled out loads of tape/poor connections/scotch loks, replaced where necessary with soldered joints and lots of heat shrink, good job there is a Maplins just around the corner from the office. Cheers Chris
  3. I have an immobiliser that I want to fit, Thatcham cat2 proximity fob type. Imobiliser will isolate two circuits, question is what to isolate? Seven has ignition via aero type switch (not key/barrel), FIA master switch and Q/R wheel. Also has starter button fitted. Which circuits should I isolate, fuel pump seems first choice, then possibly coil (low tension) or starter button. Thinking is a) fuel pump will stop engine from starting (well running for any amount of time) and b)isolating starter button will stop someone from messing when left in Sainsbury's car park useful as 7 is usally left in gear (under dash h/brake) Is this the best way to go or have I missed something? Advice gratefully received. Thanks Chris
  4. Simon, I'II call CC this morning. A little new to Se7en's but I'm learning. 😬 Thanks Chris
  5. Dedion with anti roll bar over diff. Previous owner has removed one of the drop links and left the other. Anyone have one gathering dust? 😬 Thanks Chris
  6. Hi Rob, PTFE tape installed no leaks *thumbup* Thanks Chris 😬
  7. Have fitted electric brake line lock. (Morosso purchased from Real Steel) Having difficulty in getting oil tight seal were brass connector screws into the body of the line lock. Is there anything I can use to assist in getting a seal? Some sort of thread lock? PTFE tape (brake fluid tolerant?) Brake pipes seal Ok where they connect to the brass fitting, just the brass fitting to line lock that is the problem. ☹️ Thanks Chris
  8. DSL, Did you get my blatmail, not sure if our system will allow me to send ? Don't really want to ask our IT manager 😳 Chris 😬
  9. So I have to replace the front shocks as one of the Bilsteins is leaking. Phone CC they advise replace both fronts, seems reasonable so "please can I have two" er sorry only one is stock, new stock will be a week(ish). This prompted me to look around for alternatives, but I know nothing about shock abosrbers. Does anyone run GAZ ? Rally Design brochure has then listed for a se7en at very reasonable price, Demon Tweeks have AVO (seen some comments on BC about these) or should I just wait for the Bilsteins? 1.4SS Bilsteins on adjustable platforms. Thanks
  10. Thanks Martin. I'II look out for some secondhand ones. *thumbup* Chris
  11. Out today and noticed front drivers side front wheel "bouncing" around alot - more than passenger side. Got home and looked at the front shocks, drivers side appears to be leaking 🙆🏻 Can this be repaired or are replacement(s) required? Car is 1.4K SS with Bilstein adjustable platforms, but I am quite new to this so a little unsure. Any suggestions gratefully received Thanks Chris
  12. Hi John, Hope the retail therapy was not too painfull 😬 😬 Thought for a moment I had driven past another se7en and missed it Chris
  13. That would have been me and SWMBO. Leisurely drive down to Cranleigh then across to Devils Punch Bowl for tea! Lovely countryside around Cranleigh. Chris
  14. 1.4 SS Standard Brakes Dedion 1996. Discs and pads look pretty tired so thought about replacing all 4 corners. CC quote £135 - £140 for discs and pads delivered. Is this reasonable? Is it possible to go to local Motor Factor and order parts, only want to put standard pads in as road use at moment. Equivalent part nos/"donor" car information would be appreciated. Thankyou Chris
  15. Hi Peter, Bozz is correct, bought my seven last November and water temperature appeared low, would rise a little when car was standing, but on the move the temp dropped. Thought it temp sender unit and possibly thermostat. Investigation showed no thermostat so fitted standard part from CC. Straight away there was a big difference as the engine actually got hot, temp gauge then showed 120 degress !! Replacement temp sender sorted that out. If you go for the thermostat option be careful when refilling the coolant, loads on BC about getting rid of airlocks. Mark is right it is an "off the car job" to change. Good luck Chris
  16. Chris, YHM Thanks Chris
  17. 10 I think. 😬 Thanks Chris *thumbup*
  18. Looks just what I need..... "Allows you to do burnups like the professionals" 😬 😬 😬 😬 Thanks Chris
  19. Sorry for the hijack. Rob, What is the set up of the electric front line brake? SWMBO will not drive the se7en near any hills because of the under dash handbrake. (There are those who will no doubt say leave well alone, but this would gain brownie points and possibly movement in upgrade budget!! 😬 😬 😬) Thanks Chris
  20. Blue se7en was mine, saw (heard!) you drive past the playing field I was helping with coaching Knaphill Spitfires U10 football team. Only had the car since Nov05, first spot, Thanks Chris
  21. Tom, thanks. I do think the fronts are narrower will look as suggested tomorrow. Would explain why the rears are 205's.
  22. Miura/Mick Looked at Angus and Tessa's site very helpful indeed, and along with all the feedback here is quite amazing. Tom I hear what you are saying about driving in the wet. Just got of the garage and have tried to measue the rims by poking tape through spokes and taking best measurement. Rears measure at about 8" and fronts 7" which seem quite wide when looking at the George Polley tyre measurements/rim sizes so I am probably over measuring. Will take a wheel off tomorrow to see if sizes are marked anywhere. Mick looked at the prices this afternoon wow - a set of 4 AO21's comes in around £100 cheaper than AO48's Thankyou to everyone who has replied, BC is prooving to be a very important part of Caterham ownership. *thumbup* *thumbup*
  23. Alan - Apollo fitted Thanks *thumbup*
