  1. We'll be camping as normal.
  2. Had a think and unless anyone has a desperate need for loads of boiling water, i'll just bring the gas griddle and not the Burco as i've realised i've also got one of the Coleman shelters on board...... 😳
  3. I'll be bringing a gas burco and gas griddle down friday night which can be used on either friday or saturday nights. of course, you need to provide your own, food, tea & coffee etc.
  4. 52 entries and for those who are undecided you still have until Sunday to get your entry in.
  5. Drat gutted for you. meant what I said about the Rakeway kit, not cheap but does sort once & for all, & if you really fancy an upgrade then there was some posts recently about combining the rakeway with a disc brake conversion.
  6. All depends on how your brake balance feels. The 3/4 increases the amount of rear braking force applied as the surface area is 19% greater than the 11/16.
  7. Had a look in the garage, the part number for the 3/4" ones is :- 4925 or BWD147 or LW33476 these were fitted the Ford Anglia,Thames, Escort & Cortinas.
  8. there's various threads about shimming or tack welding but after going through the exercise a couple of times I bit the bullet and upgraded to rakeway halfshafts. Stubstantially stronger and does away with all the problems associated with the live axle half shafts, you can even run on sticky rubber with out worrying about the half shafts. Don't forget it's not a speed championship requirement, it's an MSA requirement so effectivley everyone competing with a road going car built after 31/12/99 must comply 5.16.7. Exhaust catalytic converters must be fitted to all petrol engined production based saloon, touring and sports cars, including specialist production and kit cars, manufactured after 31/12/99. They may be specified for certain other formulae. Competitors are reminded of their obligation to maintain such equipment on a vehicle used on the highway where government legislation requires it. 12. As you know i'm finally letting Mat loose on an event as a dual drive *eek*at both Curborough rounds. If there's anyone who is not competing and would be willing to help out with the data entry on the day i'd be grateful. Cheer's Chris

  14. Stickers & Championship card arrived in this mornings post 😬
  15. PS I can confirm that the pressure at the expansion tank is vertually non existant but also the hoses through the system do not stiffen up due to pressure as the do with normal coolant pressures. So I can only assume that the pressure observed at the expansion tank is similar to that in the hoses. The zetec has a very specific issue in that the recommended oil temp is between 100-110C so is pushing normal coolant in a 7 installation above what is ideal.
  16. Best time to install is with a new engine, however when doing a conversion you drain as much as possible, fill the engine with the flush fluid, run the engine for a period, redrain then fill with evans, unless you have a very large coolant volume within the block and a very small cooling system volume you normally get below the % water content which is recommended.
  17. Definatley little or no pressure in the system and it appears to have more evan cooling. Whilst with normal coolant you have to change it in order to keep the antifreeze properties and anti-corrosive inhibitors active, Evans Coolant is a lot more stable and does not degrade to the extent of normal coolant, there fore can be reused. The only thing which will have a negative effect on evans is if someone tops the coolant up with water rather than evans. If the conversion has been done correctly, if and when you empty the cooling system out evans comes out just as clear as when it went in. Edited by - CaterBram on 29 Mar 2014 09:01:22

    Steering lock

Have you got a removable steering wheel ? if so normally there is not a steering lock.
  20. Just got my entry acknowledgement for Wiscombe, just Epynt and Llandow to enter when the regs come out and that's everything for the year entered. 😬
  21. Mark's correct, if you can only see the championship logo and previous results you are not logged in. You do need to be logged into the website for both the normal entry forms & regulations but also for entering Curborough.
  22. the engine was purchased originally as a 1.8 with the 130BHP cams in seems i got the 115 BHP cams instead, she's booked in to be breathed on this week and a decent set of CAM's & verniers fitted to bring her upto the 155 BHP. for the last two years the championship regulations effectively meant I could not alter the engine so never rolling roaded her to establish a base line, this year as long as I stay under the 155 BHP limit i'm okay, .
  23. I've been on Evan's Coolant for 12 month's now, and whilst i can't comment on additional power as i've not changed my tune for it. The plus points have been :- Coolant's as clear today as the day it was first installed. More Even cooling across engine with fewer localized hot spots. Low or no pressure in cooling system Other than any spillages does not need replacing. if your a tinkerer who has to drop the coolant fairly often will pay for itself in a couple of years compared to normal coolant. At the end of the day it's each to there own.
