  1. I have the perfect tyres to match these wheels !
  2. I can send them for sure though someone just got in ahead of you and bought them 5 mins ago!
  3. Thanks JNC I have replied to your message but have had a failure. Could you try text? Thanks. Chris
  4. Alan. Done! Thanks. Best to text or call as this messaging system has been playing up today!
  5. Set of 4 Toyo Proxes 888s; 2 off 185/60R13 80V (to fit 6" front wheels) 2 off 205/60R13 86V (to fit 8" rear wheels) Both sets of tyres have around 5-6mm tread and are medium/soft compound, only used on the road and have done about 1000 miles max so these have a lot of life left. In my view, better than CR500s once you take time/distance to warm them up. Photos on request. I would like to sell as a set of 4. So how does £200 sound, collected or meet up at mutually agreeable venue? I am out towards Kings Lynn/Peterborough.
  6. Not sure this is the right Forum. I moved up from Essex last year and asked the POBC for recommendations for someone that could service and MoT my R400. Of the several responses, none suggested anyone close to me. ☹️ This year I noted from Low Flying that Nick Potter has opened up his own business near Market Harborough, just over an hour's drive away. Long story short - I am just back from Nick's and I can highly recommend his service. Friendy, efficient, honest, courteous and great value. Even loaned me a courtesy car so I could get to Starbucks in the town to do a couple of hours of work while they did the business. If you are anywhere nearby I would suggest you check out Nick and his small friendly team.
  7. Didn't receive your BM Dr. Have sent one back to you. Let's see if that works
  8. Just fitted an "as new" screen to my R400 SV. I swapped it as the old one has a number of tiny chips and driving into the low winter sun at this time of year, this can get tiring on the eyes. Otherwise it is in pretty good nick, the paintwork has a only few marks and the heating element still works fine. Happy to give this away as it isn't perfect but would make a good back up screen, useful for track days, or if anyone wants a heated screen. In summer and on track days the screen chips aren't really noticeable. For clarity, this is just the screen, the mounting stanchions are not included though I see there some for sale on eBay. Collection preferred as postage may be a bit tricky as well as pricey. I am near Wisbech in Cambridgeshire. Edited by - velocityblade on 15 Feb 2014 12:05:54
  9. Nick, no sorry nothing arrived last night. I have emailed you a different reliable address. Otherwise try chris@skyskills.co.uk or call/text on 07802 224523
  10. Not sure if it is just me, but I have had some difficulty in getting to this page today, Saturday 23 Nov. In case there is an issue that gets in the way of contacting me, try chris@skyskills.co.uk. Ian, Nick, you should have mail from me.
  11. Hi all After a recent move I now have these items for sale, all from my 04 R400 SV. - CC Carbon Fibre Aeroscreen with ABS (not carbon) Spa type mirrors. The screen is in pretty good nick as are the mirrors (with flat glass). The mirror mounting bolts are showing some corrosion but are easily changed. I fitted soft velcro to the area where this bolts onto the car, so paintwork is protected when you swap back. Say £300 + P&P Now sold to Colin - thanks - Pair of Wind Deflectors. Some very minor marks but not noticeable in use. £30 + P&P Now sold to Nick - thanks - As new and unused SBFS Half Hood "Classic" (without the little window/reflectors). In the move I found my other one so this is superfluous! £75 + P&P Now sold to Ian - thanks - Very effective Draft Reducer. Fits to an FIA-type Roll Bar. Simple velcro fittings. In good condition. £25 + P&P Now sold to Adrian - thanks All items can be viewed by clicking here Happy for collection if preferred. I am out near Wisbech. Lovely roads for 7s if you fancy a trip out ;-) Edited by - velocityblade on 24 Nov 2013 11:27:01 Edited by - velocityblade on 24 Nov 2013 11:28:20 Edited by - velocityblade on 24 Nov 2013 11:29:04 Edited by - velocityblade on 24 Nov 2013 22:32:57
  12. An update. I decided on GST Performance as this is the nearest. What a great place. The work was excellent and they also had some bodywork repairs done for me which are of the highest standard. GST even used their normal MoT garage that was Caterham friendly - for this year at least. Thanks for all the suggestions. I can definitely add my weight to use GST recommendation.
  13. Thanks for those thoughts. The 7 Workshop is a couple of hours away and Northampton Motorsport just over 90 mins. Hmm. I guess if I choose to live in the middle of fields, I will have to live with a few inconveniences. Appreciate all the guidance ad local knowledge. Thanks again.
  14. Thanks. That's just an hour away. About what it takes me now to get to Dartford. I'll give them a call, once (if) we get to exchange-contract stage
  15. You're right; seemed we saw most of it when house hunting! 😬 I thought with Norfolk less than an hour away from the new house, there would be a motorsport specialist that would look after 7s. Found one or two in Suffolk but nothing up near Wisbech. Maybe I should just look forward to finding a challenging route to Taylor's Foundry
  16. It looks like I may be moving from Essex up to just outside Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Having scanned Tech Talk back to 2001 I have been unable to find any POBC help as to where is the best place to take my R400 SV for regular service and MoT. Taylors in Haverhill is about 90 mins away: Caterham Midlands about 120 mins. I had hoped, what with Norfolk being the land of the Lotus, I could find some specialists nearby but so far Google has come up with nothing ☹️ Does anybody have some good ideas? Or do I make a day of it, driving down to Haverhill and back?
  17. Two separate lots here. 1. Acoustafil ZT1 for repacking R400/500 silencer (27" long x 7" dia). 1000g/sq.m density, 3.24m x 0.7m - the size/density as recommended by suppliers. Lots of info on Tech Talk thread about how good this stuff is. Bought to repack my old one, but when I took it off, I found a plate welded underneath across the join, so had to get a new silencer! Worth it for the track days though Cost £50 and is still in the original box. Anyone interested in it for £25 pus P&P (approx £7.50) Now Sold - thanks Merrick 2. 5x1l Fuchs Titan Super Syn Plus 5W-40 fully synthetic oil. Sell as one job lot. Bought in excess of needs. Say £10 for the 5 bottles plus P&P (approx £5)Now sold to Andy Edited by - velocityblade on 18 Mar 2013 12:16:23 Edited by - velocityblade on 18 Mar 2013 12:17:09 Edited by - velocityblade on 18 Mar 2013 12:17:37 Edited by - velocityblade on 18 Mar 2013 12:19:09 Edited by - velocityblade on 18 Mar 2013 17:46:25 Edited by - velocityblade on 19 Mar 2013 08:42:33
  18. Looks just as fab as the S3 version - only bigger Yes please, this is me reaffirming my earlier posting for a 2004 SV.
  19. I mentioned earlier that I would update this thread after 3 tanks of "standard" diesel, giving the fuel system time to be fully flushed out of any 2 stroke oil that I had added previously. Well, 3rd tank refill happened yesterday, so here is the latest set of observations. Low engine speed torque: now seems a bit sluggish up to 1500 rpm compared to with added 2T; still has a bit more grunt than it used to have at 2000, so maybe injectors/EGR valve have been cleaned up with the 2T? Quietness: maybe some frosty morning rattle under load just after start up has crept back in. Would need to add 2T again to make a real comparison. Otherwise not noticed the engine being any more or less noisy than with 2T. MPG: hard to give an exact comparison as the last couple of tankfuls have been different driving conditions for me. Overall though, this has not improved back to what it was before I added the original 2T. So, I was doing around 50 mpg before the experiment started, that dropped to 47-48 with the 2T, now without the 2T if is about the same, 47-48. That's probably a bit too close a result given the unscientific testing (I simply tried to drive like I normally would ) to prove very much, especially given the last set of results with no 2T. DPF issues: nothing noted here. I covered around 1750 miles with the 2T, about the same without. No warning lights or engine management issues with, or without, the 2T. As mentioned before, hard to tell when the DPF regen has kicked in on the Accord so can't say if the intervals between regens was increased with the 2T, or not. I am going to use another litre of 2T (circa 3 tankfuls ) once this last uncontaminated tank has been used up, just to do a double check. My conclusion so far: from an unscientific and non statistical basis, I think most improvements are in people's heads. That is, placebo effect. I am not saying there aren't benefits, but none that I can really perceive if I am honest. Surely, if people think adding 2T will damage their engine, they wont do it, so you don't hear from them. If people think there could be a benefit from adding 2T, then they end up victim of the placebo effect? I am happy to invest a further £9 for 3 more tankfuls as there seems to be no downside to this, so I can conclude for myself whether I will continue to add 2T or not.
