    Epynt

Does anyone have a postcode for Epynt hillclimb. I can't find it anywhere?
  8. LOL, Team Rioja, that sounds dangerous... Do the venues typically allow camping?
  9. Just looking forward to my first season of sprinting. One point on my mind is the early starts and distance to the tracks. I'm 3 hours from Goodwood, so would rather stay over the night before, would be happy to camp or go in a hotel I will have my car on a trailer, so that needs to be taken into account. Any advice out there?
  10. Can't wait to see it Andy - especially if it's madder than the last car. What colour will you make this one?
  11. My only motive for posting was to share some facts and add to the collective knowledge. Seeing as I do know when the foam was replaced, the intervening history, and subsequent condition of the foam. Should I come a cropper, I will share that also.
  12. Oily, To get this right, are you saying that there is a quality issue with the foam? In other words, some will break up sooner than others? How comes Caterham recommend keeping it in? Perhaps the problems are more because people don't change the foam regularly enough?
  13. I can't see a compelling reason to remove it based on what I learnt above.
  14. Just changed the foam baffle for the first time. many thanks to Alcester Sevens for a great write up which helped me a lot. Here's a link to some pics which show the state of the baffle. It was severly darkened, however it was not breaking up and still had a similar structural strength to the new one. There were no signs of any material coming off it and ending up in the pic up filter. The last time it was changed was 2 year ago, with approx 7k miles, and oil change when apollo was fitted in april 2011. Car has done 4 trackdays in that time, the rest is spirited road driving and touring. Hope this adds to the knowledge Link
  15. for the A021Rs, which I use all weathers on the road, also have a set of 48rs for trackday fun
  16. Job done :) a couple of BHP more, but that's not noticable, but, from 3000 to 6000 rpm, approx 5 lb/ft more than before. 10 mile drive and the car is noticable more perky. Mission accomplished 😶‍🌫️
  17. I'm under no illusions about the absolute accuracy of dynos, test will be to see what changes after fitting verniers, and ultimately the drive. Just want the engine to be as good as it can be
  18. Car's been on the rolling road this morning. 1.6ss, powerspeed 4-2-1 and the throttle body wedge removed and holes filled. 110 lb/ft @6300 rpm and 153 bhp indicated on rolling road (110 at the wheels). Chap in garage reckons it reads 6 BHP high. Verniers now being fitted and will go back later and see what difference that makes on the rolling road. Quite impressed at original readings, so not expecting too much

    Flat flooring

Does anyone know what a reasonable price is to get this done? Possible winter treat :)
  20. Thanks for the advice all. A pretty clear message that's helped me to get my head around the whole thing :)
  21. I'm having some verniers fitted this coming thursday, with rolling road before and after. The car is used for touring, track days and will be doing some sprinting next year. Question is, should I go for more mid range torque or more top end power? 😶‍🌫️
  22. That's great, ta for the reply
  23. I've got a 1600ss, powerspeed 4-2-1, apollo tank. Will prep over the winter with a view to starting sprinting next year. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the regulations and find out which class I should run in? I have a couple of sets of wheels at the mo, both 13", a set with yoko 48s for track days, and yoko 21s for touring. Ideally I don't want to buy a 3rd set for sprinting aswell. Not too worries about competitveness at this stage, purely a fun excercise.
