    Gearbox issue

I think problem/solution found. Probably a classic case of the three things in my original post actually being completed unrelated hence on the wrong track. I have squirted WD40 down the gear lever by pushing the tube betewwen the gaitor and the lever. It is now soooo much easier to push down hence suspect rust or the like making it difficult to push the lever through the nylon bush which sits on the gear box under the tunnel cover. I will not use the car during the week hence will probably know for certain next week.

    Gearbox issue

A strange problem on my R400D hydraulic clutch. I am unable to push down the lever to select reverse-rest is fine. Solution is to open up the petal box, disconnect the clutch pedal from the hydraulic cylinder, move the lever around and problem solved. I use the car for the weekend with no problem then leave it over the week and problem has reappeared. Issued has started since I had the hydraulic fluid changed-thoughts*confused*

    Check oil levels

How far down the tank is the baffle you refer to?
  8. A question for the font of all knowledge. First track day since engine rebuild on R400D and dry sump fitted. Big puffs of smoke exiting righthand bends and car used quite a bit of oil. Noticed that block breather is still connected to the intake plennum. On disconnecting the pipe there was oil in the pipe and I assume in the plennum. This did not happen when used on track before with the wet sump fitted. No issue when car used on road. Reading posts I assume the sloution is to blank off the breather pipe at the block and the plennum? The breather on the cam cover is connected to the oil tank which in turn is connected to a catch tank. Question why does the engine have 2 breathers?

    Horrible noise

End of the horrible noise saga. Engine rebuilt and back in the car together with dry sump fitted and all up and running. Hopefully no more oil starvation issues. Looking to do a trackday next weekend with fingers and toes crossed. A big thank you to Ellie, Pat the Plumber and Stuart for the bits to get it back in action. Where would we be without the font of all knowledge-Blatchat.
  11. Really easy in France and I suspect similar in Portugal. Go to Orange France web site and get info on the pay as you go data for ipad. I paid 60 odd euros which includes some data, a SIM card and a potable wifi thing. You can then buy addition data at a relatively low price. Pay 5 euros and get the unlock code via the web so you can use your wifi thing with any service provider. You can buy the wifi thing in the UK also.

    Horrible noise

Latest update on my very static R400D. Gets even worse *cry*-now found out that amount of grinding required for crank would render it out of tolerance. Trying to workout what plan B looks like ❗
