  1. To get the Clutch pedal in a position i am happy with , required the courser adjustment, of moving the clevis pin to the inner hole position. (towards the driver) This has worked a treat , then checked and re-set the pedal stop as suggested. Went for a little test drive around the block , today . What a difference !
  2. I too went out today , after lunch went the rain had stopped and the sun came out. It was brilliant ! But we are in sunny Somerset and that 2 speed heater helps ..... luxury Chuffed i left the red beastie taxed
  3. Hi Paul , If you don't get sorted on here, Which i'm sure you will , as this site never ceases to amaze with all the knowledge and friendly, helpful folk. Give George Pinder a ring at Tytherleigh Vehicle Electrics , based at Chard in Somerset . I am happy to come along with you if it helps , as i took my Elise there last year. Not sure how far this is from you in North Dorset . Good luck .
  4. I also have been running modified crossflows with standard seats for years without problems. Using leaded and Octane boost in one additive ; Castrol valvemaster. Did have one head fitted with valve inserts twenty years ago (still have that engine too) amazingly they are fitted by cooling (shrinking them) and pressing in.
  5. Yes it is a late model Sigma engined car. I had noticed the clutch hydraulic hose going in through a hole in the bell housing. Certainly not a design for ease of maintenace on the slave cylinder. I will take the cover off and adjust carefully , as you have suggested . Thank you J and 7 wonders
  6. I have this pedal box article with interest as i have a clutch pedal query. Hope i am not high jacking this post. I feel my clutch pedal is too high , what do you guys think in my pics ? If so is pedal height adjustable ? It certainly clears ok without pushing all way down to bottom of travel .
  7. Your right , that is Exceptional value having just bought a 310, few weeks ago. Although i do like my car' a lot Oooops........
  8. Read or heard somewhere (age thing) that heat via a hot air gun or similar does the trick. Fits with Geoff's moisture suggestion too. Guess it sounds a brave thing to do on your nice carbon panels, good to test the theory on scrap parts first perhaps. Also could get yourself in a whole lotta trouble using the wife's expensive hair dryer !!
  9. Seems a low/reasonable starting price . Have you a reserve. Good luck with sale, Bert.
  10. Nice one guys , just what i wanted to hear. Checked that it's live with the Ignition off and have ordered the correct mail adapter for the Optimate , so can plug directly ; one end in to under Dash 12v socket , other into charger.
  11. Hi Jonathan and Wp. Its a standard Banner 30A battery and i don't have a master switch/ cut out fitted.
  12. Hi All, I have a recent model fitted with a standard CC fitted 12volt socket , under the N/s dash (by fusebox) . Can i trickle charge through this socket ; Using an Optimate 0.8 A style charger/conditioner. Or is there anywhere else to plug into without taking bonnet off and connecting direct to battery .Lazy, I know. What do all you guys do in the winter months when our cars aren't getting so much use and need to keep battery topped up ? Prob a leading question lol. Thanks again, excellent site.
  13. Yes all went well thank you. Sunday is definitely the best day for covering any distance and avoiding most traffic. (sometimes). Red beastie "installed" in the garage . Ready for tinkering . he he he
  14. If your on M5, M42 or M1 tomorrow Sunday 3rd. I will be bringing my first Caterham back to it's new home 200 odd miles down South. Trailoring it I'm afraid . It's a Competition Red machine with orcas wheels and a 620R nosecone. Wish me luck and look out for me if your on those motorways.
  15. Hi all, Interesting topic as new to Caterhams and looking to purchase a classic green 270 and add yellow stripes. Is it true that the aftermarket vinyl stripes are only good for 5 years or is this if left out in all weathers . And as most 7 cars are garaged in poor weather but used in strong sunlight does this still stand ? Perhaps the 5 years is a minimum requirement. Interestingly original graphics on factory saloons and campervans (out in all weathers) last loads longer than this . Anyone done their graphics/striping a few years ago and how are they holding up ?
