Green with Stripe (i think) going through Arundel Historic town about 3.30 - 4.00 ish ; Saturday 8th. Got so excited , nearly dropped my ice cream as was playing the tourist (Grockle) for the day and my Seven was locked away at home 150 miles away.

Red with White or silver stripe; K20.... Heading along Lewes / Uckfield road , East Sussex. Saturday 8th about 1.30 ish . Ideal as very warm day I was going in opposite direction in a Campervan , waved .

Thanks Paul , Just taken the Nose cone off and I see the Radiator core is seeping at the bottom , which is not going to help an intermittant fan issue Incidentally its a late model 310 S, probably ECU controlled fan switching ? Chris

Sometimes on a warm day , the fan appears to come on (after being out) , and manouvering into the garage , just before switching off and then stops . Tried ignition back on , but doesn't activate the fan.

How are the cooling fans wired on our cars. Is the feed disconnected when ignition is switched off ? On a late model 310 .

Hi ChaucerC, I too am relative newbie , Enjoy your car. I found some brilliant stuff for the exhaust at a car show last year. also available on Fleabay. It is apparently what the American truckers use on their Big rigs for the Stax etc ...takes the heat well. Does seem to hold a shine, before discolouring, longer than Autosol and Autoglym. Although a lot more expensive , approx £18 for 355 ml. Only a small amount is required and a great shine if polished off with microfibre cloth. I guess expensive because it is brought over from the States It is called White Diamond . Cheers, Chris

Fitted the bargain De-cat pipe this weekend. Only slightly louder. Pops back pretty much the same on the overrun but perhaps with more pressure / louder. Looks so much better cosmetically . Thank you again K7. Possibly slight increase in performance or perhaps we hold it in lower gears longer to enjoy the sound

Sounds Good K7. I did go out in 310R at Williams Bristol, but only as a passenger. Plus came close to buying their white 310R (ex demonstrator/hire car with 12k miles ) at CC Gatwick , before finding my 310S (1200 miles) last year. Guess what i am saying is came close to buying a lightweight flywheel model. But more than happy with mine ......At present . Chris

Sounds like you had a good deal K7. I only drove / roadtested a 270 briefly , with the owner by my side so couldn't give it the real beans, before opting for a factory built 310. (without lightweight flywheel) . So harder to compare the two back to back i would imagine that flywheel makes a big difference to how lively it feels , lower down ? Interestingly i get more "popping back" with the 310 (from what i remember), which i like. I mainly went for that model after reading loads of reviews including the statement from CC; "If Caterham only made one car it would be the 310". Plus liking the options / colour choice chosen by the original owner .

#6 #7 Doubly interesting TJG and K7 . I do enjoy the popping back with the Cat.......Strange it should disappear Even though earlier conversations on here advise; Popping back can destroy the Cat ? Did you find a sympathetic Mot tester , chance the De-cat pipe. I agree ...De-cat pipe cleans up the look massively. When it arrives i will take it into work (who said that ) and give it a good polish first. We both have the same 310S engine K7, so will be an Interesting experiment. Was yours factory built/ upgraded ?

Yes DJ i looked at getting Mobile 1 . Then saw a tag on the car saying Castrol, so looked at what was about; Bought 5l of Castrol Edge Professional Longlife 5w 30. From ebay at discounted price ....I think ... £32 incl post). It's a Vw dealership in Lancs selling stock. I also saw Fuch Titan ? very very reasonably priced , though not sure what its like.
