  1. Put me down for a pair , if it's viable for you.
  2. Like it Lots.....Great colour. But then am slightly biased , as have 310 also.
  3. Presumably Eccles and Mrp, that Pipe from CC 36X025A would fit my 310 S Sigma too ? Def on my to do list Interesting the thoughts on popping back, harming the Cat. My Toyota engined Elise (fitted with a 2ubular tuned exhaust from almost new) used to pop back on the overrun , (Loved It ) it was on there for 6 years and was a recognised Lotus upgrade. Passed Mot's ok, Perhaps I was lucky.
  4. Wow....They do think of everything
  5. Gearbox oil level checked , and all ok. It is a square plug, Which can be undone from underneath with a 14mm open ended spanner or from up top, or through passenger side, tunnel , if you peel back the carpet you will see a large round blanking grommet. Remove (cut out insulation material if you have it) 17mm bi-hexagon socket fits ( Halfords Advanced ,of course ) So it sounds like something we Mx5 gear boxed cars, have to live with for the time being.
  6. Wow! Good technical explanation. Thank you. Sounds all very likely; as i saw when underneath that it is a Caterham marked gearbox casing, so the tolerances could well be different from OE Japanese fitment.
  7. Just a thought , perhaps the "turret" level beneath the gear lever needs checking too, in case its low or dry (as in Jonathans link). As this is a separate fill from the main Mazda gearbox. Did you fill yours when you built it , kiloromeo ?
  8. Well that is a relief (if you know what i mean) that we both have exactly the same noises, same newish cars, kiloromeo. I will check the level and keep you informed. and in the meantime; as you say; Has anyone out there solved these noises ?
  9. Thats Interesting sjl1. 4 th gears gear, certainly ties up. Nothing to worry about then ? Do you have a mazda gearbox car now or Ford ?
  10. You are J , that is a Brilliant read . Thank you for that , I have saved the article. Incidentally, I now own a Mk4 ND2 . A much lighter car than the mk3 , (similar to mk1) .
  11. Thanks J, for that link....on Mazda level plug.......You are a Star ! . Yes i would say in all gears , but as you spend some time when cruising, in the higher gears,(exhaust note lower) when you really notice it. There is a noise similar in neutral, (tick over) which you can eliminate by pressing clutch fully. Which would suggest Thrust bearing. But i have not heard a thrust bearing that makes that noise ......Yet ! i have owned several Mx5's includin a Mk3 for 7 years, which i believe this box is from ? And they were quiet , but then i suppose they had more insulation/ rubber mounting. Plus my Se7en is full of newness , at just over year old....but then...built by CC.
  12. Hi All, Does anyone else get a chattering noise (prob not best description ) on the overrun, No throttle or very light throttle load, at varying speeds ? This is on a late model ; Sigma engine/Mazda gearbox i believe ? 310S. Very low mileage (1500) I am just about to check the gearbox oil level . Which i think is on the nearside , 14mm square plug ? If someone could verifiy this before i undo, and something falls off inside the gearbox....oops. Thanks Chaps.
  13. Looks well organised and tidy . Puts me to shame . Now theres a job if we get sent home/lock down from work .
  14. It's the apex of the lowered floor , that grounds out over speed bumps on my car . Mostly the Short but high bumps on private roads ; Like Nat trust car parks, entrances etc. Perhaps i do need to raise it,,,,,,,or go on a diet. I wonder how much before you start to affect the handling ? Mind you ; more sump clearance on the Sigma is no bad thing !
  15. Thanks Ian . PM sent. I am going up to Race Retro Sat 22nd Feb . Wonder if anyone on here going ?
  16. Thanks for that nudge, I am interested in that rim as a spare, as i have those on my 7. Wonder if any kind person on here, could collect it from the Cambridge area perhaps ?
  17. Hi Tom, Is it for a late model R or S model with a sort of blue facia ?
  18. Very pleased with my reversable Soft bits for sevens shower cap . Had a good test couple weeks ago , quite a downpour / showers on n off all day ; interior kept nice n dry. Quick n easy to fit. Discount on here too
  19. Hi Stephen. All four under wings treated . 1 coat . Still have just over half the tin left.
  20. Well ....I bought the Isoflex, (2.5l Screwfix ) and put one coat on rear wing this afternoon as a trial. It goes on quite thick , going to let dry overnight ...hopefully, and decide if it needs another coat. Probably because its not that warm out and i should have warmed the tin by bringing in house overnight . Which i have done now. At the rate the first coat went on , i am glad i bought the 2.5l tin. On the Instructions it does say minimum thickness 1mm, using two coats, but as this is intended for flat roof sealing/repairs , i am thinking one will probably be enough for our usage.
  21. All sounds excellent advice . Thank you. Been reading the adverts ; Did you need to prime before using the Isoflex product ? Or is that really just when using on flat roofs .
  22. On my last 7 type build , (Years ago) i painted/coated underneath the wings with a rubberised type of paint , to stop stones chipping the underside and give some surface protection. Plus added benefit of dulling that cringe making sound of stones hitting . Anyway...... i see that CBS do a modern equivalent called Wunderseal synthetic elastomer. Has anyone tried it ..... or considered it unneccessary as thickness /design of modern Caterham glassfibre doesn't require it.
  23. Funny you should ask J Whilst working in the pedal box , thought i would check full throttle opening , which it was getting , but the pedal stop adjustment was nowhere near , it was using the throttle body, butterfly stop instead . So re-set that also. Plus lubricated all the pivots and linkages in the pedal box (with my trusty oil can) whilst top was off. Naturally the drive is greatly improved. So thank you all , again and wishing you a Greaaaaaaat Christmas
