  1. My 420 with 8" rears effortlessly spins up it's rear tyres on the road. In most situations though, I wouldn't be pushing the car anywhere near the physical limits of grip on the road and so 8" works just fine - by which I mean the balance of the car is harder to determine and less relevant during road use IMO. I think the issue is that they don't get any meaningful temperature on the road and so especially over crests, bumps and general undulations it can be quite interesting... I wouldn't want less rear grip... On track with hot tyres it's completely planted and I have been adjusting the car to take of a bit of rear grip to reduce understeer. What I couldn't say is whether the 6" rears (with equivalent narrower tyres) would warm up more easily during road use. I doubt it TBH David.

    420R rev range

Mine has the limiter at about 7800 so mostly it's between 6 and the red line on track. To get the most performance from the 420 you will need to be over 6k. Certainly, that's where mine starts to really fly. Oh. And wear earplugs for safety.
  3. Good photo! Matching experts
  4. My rear pads are made by DELPHI - 507CC David.
  5. Rob - it's a good idea to double check. I bought their carbon aero screen and whilst it is a good product - commensurate with price paid - it's not in the same league of quality as the Caterham supplied one. I had to do some finishing / laquering to the underside to make it acceptable to my eye. David.
  6. I was painting my shed roof when I heard the noises.. Anyone local? David.
  7. Thanks Simon - look forward to the pictures!
  8. Sorry if I have missed another thread / usual etiquette (first L7C trackday for me) but just back home in Scotland after the long drive home from Lincolnshire. Thanks to Simon (and good to meet you in the pub the night before) and the team for an excellent trackday at Cadwell. Well organised and hugely entertaining - even the weather kept its biblical downpour for about 5 seconds after I loaded the car back into the trailer at 17:00:05!! Was there a team photographer / links to any photos taken on the day? Looking forward to the next one. David (Riviera Blue 420R)
  9. Simon - do you know if it's possible to camp on the Monday evening after the event? I have booked a site for the Sunday night but was keeping my options open for Monday evening. Thanks
  10. Can anyone take some photos / measurements of the tyre rack in their minno shuttle please? I found an excellent trailer but I need to DIY the rack Many thanks David.
  11. Great - I have booked Cadwell and will probably add a few more - what's the situation if there is a covid related intervention with respect to cancellation / refunds - i'm in scotland and so if we are not permitted to travel etc it would be good to know the t&cs before booking Anglesey and Croft... Thanks David.
  12. Still on the lookout for one of these if anyone is keen to sell :)
  13. Hi All, Like many others I'm on the hunt for one of the above covered trailers so if anyone is giving thought to selling please get in touch. Many thanks David.
  14. Thanks all - Scott - can you PM the details re the diff before i remove mine? Many thanks
  15. 2017 420r - BMW diff. I need to remove my diff for an LSD rebuild (carbon plates failing) - is there any reason not to remove the diff from its carrier cage / bracket and therefore leave that aligned in the car or will this cause me an unforseen headache? Many thanks David.
