  1. Can the "other" coolants be mixed with Bluecool? Perhaps with Glycol coolants, but I wouldn't try it with OATs.
  2. Thanks. I don't know the age of my engine as I purchased it second hand. I may have to pull the cam to see which I have? The head has a stamp "SAMCOR RAK1192" I still need cylinder compression psi pressures.
  3. Hi. My Crossflow isn't in running condition now so I can't get my own info. What is the compression ratio, individual cylinder pressures and valve sizes please? Thanks.
  4. Thanks I know the metal tanks. I could use one. I am trying to use a plastic one.
  5. Like mice, there are seemingly hundreds of different pressured expansion tanks available. If I find one I like to use, that suits the 7 well, but the OEM pressure cap is rated a higher bar/psi than the system I have, how do I locate the (plastic) cap that will fit the reservoir? For example, if the expansion tank I want to use is equipped with a 1.4 (21psi) bar cap, but for use on a Kent crossflow engine car I want a 1.1 bar (psi), Is there any thread and diameter system of standardization I can refer to to source the cap I want? I am aware that the Landrover Freelander PCF000030 reservoir used by Caterham is a 1.1 bar and I could be done with that. But I am looking more at a scuttle bulkhead mounted option, Dacia Duster 2171000QAA that comes with a higher rated pressure cap, as far as I can tell. I would want to find a lower pressure cap to fit. There are other options from Fiat and Citroën I like but the same cap pressure issue. This puzzle is more easily solved with bayonet style metal pressure caps as the three or four standardized neck sizes are well known. Thanks
  6. Does anyone have info on a Jennings dizzy with MSD internals?
  7. Thanks Neil. goid info. Now Powerspark Ignition Ltd.
  8. Thanks for the info Neil. Ive been looking into vacuum as well. I really don't care to be needing a laptop, WiFi or Bluetooth to tune my ignition. Have you gone with the points or a combo vac & electronic hall effect trigger system? Aldon offers a Xflow vac with Ignitor and Ignitor V.2. Which I find confusing. I thought the point of the Ignitor was to be a unit that did the advance and retard without a vacuum line???
  9. Thanks Roger. Not having problems, just making the plans and getting parts.
  10. Thanks, Roger. I have the original set of DCOE and they run fine. Im attempting a 1968 S3 conversion, just to do something different with the car. If I can't dial it in on the 32/36, I can try a GT cam or 32/32. Ford ran the 32/36 DGV FA on the Mexico and other Crossflows so my hope is I can duplicate the Ford spec with some success. I was able to buy a generous variety of jets with the kit. With that and and an AFR guage, and many plug checks, I hope to dial it in. Who knows, I might even go for a vacuum advanced dizzy.
  11. Does anyone have the settings for a Weber 32/36 DGV on a Caterham Crossflow 1600 Sprint spec with A2 cam? Perhaps the Esccort Mk1 Mexico/ Mk2 Sport jettings will do? Anyone know them?
  12. Are there any good vidros on building T-9s? Not sped up bench top rear downs. Real detailed instrcton please. Thanks.
  13. Did you upgrade the 4>2>1 1.75" exhaust to 4>1 2"
  14. For years, 80s-90's, the standard MC was the Girling 74660152 used on the Triumph Spitfire 1500, but with a reservoir for horizontal mounting. I have recently purchased the direct descendant, TRW GMC226, or TRW PMC 146, which I have found to be a direct replacement. I purchased mine from the David Manners Group. I will have to replace the push rod with a threaded type, these are available. A friend of mine says he can get the MC with the correct reservoir from Powertrack brakes https://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/ Buying new manufacture is usually the better option than rebuilding
  15. Does a thrust bearing, provided its correct for the cover, tolerate continuous contract with cover when preloaded? Is this the norm for hydraulics? Gaiter clip- they tend have poor tension. Im inclined to think they are less for retention of the gaiter, but more for keeping the gaiter's form, or shape, like a camp tent batten. Perhaps a heat set will return it to the tension needed to spread the sealing lips in the BH opening.
  16. Consider using an air fuel ratio meter for checking your burn at those cruising speeds. Short term rich / lean may not be an issue like distance crusing will be. I sure would like to see pics of your car
  17. Most OEM T9 shifter issues can be resolved by replacing / renewing the plastic saddle in the turret.
