  1. Nice change to see a seven without a stripe 👍
  2. That is an amazing looking car and very nearly as clean as my humble s3 🤣 I’m sure you will have little trouble in selling it 👍 Ralph
  3. Just asking, what make is the lsd fitted to the differential ?
  4. Ralph45

    Duratec engine

I’ve have also seen that engine and it looks a really nice spec with ITB ‘s, ecu and dry sump.
  5. No, I just fancied a different looking roll over bar that I could alternate between.
  6. Ainsley, a little off topic, you have black bonnet springs and I assume the catches. I hope you don’t mind me asking, where did you source them from? Back on track and the highlighted 7 on the callipers looks great Ralph
  7. Thanks for adding the photo, that’s exactly what I’m after. I’ll give it a little longer to see if anything turns up and failing that your suggestion to give Arch a call will be next.
  8. Does anyone have the old Vauxhall race 2.0 red top (1993) era imperial chassis style roll over bar that is triangulated to offer driver side protection only that I can purchase? Ralph
  9. That is the very reason I changed mine to led and can thoroughly recommend you do it, the difference it makes when night driving is unbelievable. I did a lot of homework and the most popular brands that meet the requirements for mot tended to be the original cafe racer, Wisamic which are the ones I chose and another popular brand whose name escapes me. Also there were two versions Sevens and Classics had available and not forgetting Just add lightness have some complete bowl and lens ones on their website. I know there are other club members who will be able to shed some more light on the subject 😆
  10. These were my options. I only got to first base, stud lock, araldite was to be my braces if the belt failed. 😆
  11. I’ve just read BigCol’s post, so basically the same story. The only difference was mine was on the car when I fixed it but still really easy to sort.
  12. Evening Andreas, Mine did exactly what yours has done, migrated towards the bolts. It was an easy fix. All you have to do is move the reluctor ring so you can properly clean the mating surface where it should seat by removing any corrosion or road dirt to give you a nice clean surface. Then try your best to clean the inside face of the ring if possible, I used isopropyl alcohol on all surfaces to remove any grease or left over residue from cleaning. Use some stud locker on the surfaces and the tap the ring back into position rotating the driveshaft to ensure it is perfectly inline with the sensor and has no wobble as you rotate the driveshaft. leave for the stud lock to go off, then enjoy blatting with a speedometer again. I hope this sorts your problem. Ralph
  13. If I was closer I’d take it. A bargain for someone, good luck with the sale.
  14. That is fabulous to see how you approached the task of cutting the bonnet opening being something I’ve often wondered how you could do it without causing carnage.
  15. I remember seeing this at the PGM open day. An amazing looking car and beautifully engineered, super nice and if I was in the market for a new 7 this would be it. For those that are un- young enough to remember the advertisments……….. if Carlsberg did Caterhams !
  16. I’ve just shot outside to check the size and I’m sure they were to fit a hole 32/34mm. The measurement in the pic lands right in the middle
  17. If it helps somewhere ScottR400D posted about using blind rubber grommets. You can either de-pin the connector and slide it over the cable or simply cut the grommet and then fit it. I purchased some the size he suggested but to be honest have not as yet fitted them. I’ve tried to find an invoice for them regarding the size required but no luck as yet although I’m fairly sure there were some on eBay the correct size. I’m sure Scott will be along soon to give advice on sizes etc. In the meantime I’m going to have a rummage around to try and find an invoice.
  18. Hi, I have a heated s3 screen with a small stone chip in the mot fail area. To give you an idea of overall condition the car had done about six thousand miles before the screen was replaced. Maybe of some interest to you? Ralph
  19. As cheap as chips 😀 I’ll definitely get some ordered.
  20. These look very similar to the ones I have. I need to order some pins? Just incase I damage any.
  21. The guide has materialised at the perfect time for me. I have just received a set of de- pinning tools from the internet and I’m about to fit carbon indicator pods at the sharp end. Then when this has been done attempt something similar with my Caterham led rear lights. The idea is to fit rubber grommets to seal the holes in the rear wings where the cable passes through.
  22. This is brilliant and so concise utilising photos it really must be included as a technical guide.
