  1. So.. it seems I may be able to return to the fold with plans afoot for another 7. I do have a question for the combined experience of BC. I am told that the R suspension has firmer springs and dampers than the S set up, but in reality, with road use only, what is the best option? My one ride in a Supersport suspended car left me thinking it was rather hard and uncomfortable. I also felt my Roadsport (S? Suspension) lacked a little on turn in. SWMBO has a back injury so ultimately comfort is important. Any sage words of advice? Cheers Andy
  2. For anything on the Sigma engine, I'd chat to Stuart from Premier Power. What he doesn't know or can't do is probably not worth knowing. He's on here as SKC and will no doubt be along shortly.
  3. Wilsher's garage in Wimpole on the A603 is the place to go to for a rolling road set up on a car with carbs. The rolling road unit is behind the main garage. The guy running it, sorry cannot recall his name, is supposed to be very talented at sorting carb fed engines and would be the first place I would go.

    Zetec question

Quick question,... Was the Zetec ever an official CC engine or are they all owner swap outs? Cheers Andy
  5. I had the chance to drive Nicks car recently. The engine is something else. It sounds stunning, like an old Ford BDA and pulls hard. Much harder than you would credit a 1400. If you are in the market at this price point it's worth a chat to him.
  6. Hi JNC, what problem do you have on wet roads then? Andy
  7. Ian, thanks for the link to the thread.. Most interesting. Andy
  8. So... I've had one. It was noisy and the whine was dreadful over about 60 mph. It got me thinking. For the road, even spirited driving, do you really need one? Is the advantage outweighed by the noise? ( if I wanted to indulge in lurid power slides or doughnuts then yes but I don't.) To that end can anyone comment having driven cars both thus equipped and bereft on a road?
  9. Stu. the question is, what set up did you get that so transformed car? Andy
  10. This has to be the new spotted!.... 7s on Google earth or street view only.
  11. So.. From the link provided by JK the weight saving seems a tad less than 5kg. For a cost of £1545 from CC. £308 per Kg saved. OUCH!
  12. So... in kg what's the weight saving of carbon wings, front and rear and nose cone over the standard GRP items?
  13. I've run both 13s and 15s on my 140 Supersport and its certainly true the 13s offer a better handling set up and better options on tyres for ultimate handling. On a track I'd say they are a must have. For looks however and perhaps touring the 15s are better. I'm a tart.. I like the looks of the 15s.
  14. ChrisC,.. You mentioned a regret comparing your Sigma 150 to your current 360 R. May I ask how so? back to the OP and I am ccurrently planning a Premier Power upgrade to my Sigma 140 and have has numerous chats wth Stuart at PP. I have found him friendly and very helpful. There is not a bad word said of his work on the net and he comes very recommended. Give him a call.
  15. Add this to the chat action... Likely to get a better response.

    Noisy gearbox

A 310R has the limited slip dif and the same setup on my 7, ( LSD, 5 speed, Sigma.) is also noisy, worse in 4th,rattly and awkward to drive smoothly with lots of back slap if you are not careful. My 5 speed is also difficult to get into 2nd when cold and much better when warmed up. They all do that and I reckon it's part of the character and the fun.
  17. Proxy spot by my 17 year old today about 7:15 am. Yellow with black stripe and nose band heading out of Papworth towards Huntingdon. Possibly, he's a bit unawake at that time!
  18. I'm not jealous at all! Some great machinery tagging along..it was obviously a 7 road trip with "guest"!
  19. I'm currently running Toyo T1R in a 15 and find they are very good; excellent grip, comfortable, progressive breakaway if a little " squeely" up to the limit and very good wet weather grip. They are also most affordable. A quick search on Demon Tweeks and in that size they are £56. I would recommend them.
  20. Hi Toby, had a look but wasn't too sure exactly which kit.... don't suppose you recall a part no?
  21. Hi Scott, thanks for that. I will give it a try. Glad to know its not just mine that does it! Andy
  22. Right.. New discs on front to replace warped ones, new bearings because rubber seal had perished and I have finally found the cause of the annoying click on the O/S wheel.... ( hub no loner fouls the calliper so it's not that) turns out the disc is picking up the brake pad and dropping it back into the calliper... Click click. And I have no idea how to stop it! Shims might just push the pad into contact with the disc permanently. That can't be good. Any ideas? PS ... standard brakes and Mintex M 1144 pads.
