    14 inch tyres

Thanks guys. The R888R was recommended to me when I called George Polley. Its just the Wet rating of E that bothers me slightly, but maybe I'm worrying too much. Anyone recommend where I can get some 14 inch Minator where's from? John Brwn wheels ave something similar but they don't have a good online reputation.

    14 inch tyres

Once more I ask the collective wisdom of blat chat for some advice.. I have scoured the archives and am proper confused. for the time being I am sticking with 14 inch wheels for the 7 but want ( read can afford) to upgrade the standard Avon Zv3 tyres to something better. I am intending road use only. All year round and it may be out in the rain.( not much though) Stuff like Toyo r888r is a tad too compromised in wet conditions for me so I am thinking Yoko A539, Toyo T1R or Kumho V70. can anyone offer any recommendations or help please? Thanks
  3. Caterham south have two or three in stock at the moment in your price range. Granted its a long way to travel but I found them to be excellent over the phone. Also worth considering its Caterham midlands.
  4. So as a follow on to my tech question about 15 or 13 inch wheels, the resounding answer was 13s. Made my mind up for some nice 13inch Apollo wheels in black from Caterham and ZZS tyres ( probably..some discussion about N 70s to follow!) There remains the vexed question of 6 or 8 inch on the rear with various people suggesting one or the other. So, lets have a quick poll; 6 inch all round or 6 inch front and 8 inch rear? Car is a 140 Sigma with LSD. I may in due course up grade the engine a bit. It's 90% road use. on your marks, get set, go!!!
  5. GJT, two pairs of eyes better than one as they say. ..it did take some finding though!
  6. Lovely evening for a blat as we passed each other on the bend! Thanks for the wave. I did respond honest. Red Roadsport going the other way!
  7. I'm in Papworth. Home of heart surgery.
  8. Decision is 13 inch Apollo wheels in black with ZZR tyres. Going to order direct from Caterham. Just need to sort a flat floor set up now to make the best of it.Thanks for the advice everyone.
  9. My old Dad popped over and offered to help. Had the pedal box off and problem solved. It turned out it was the linkage for the clutch cable fouling on the arm for the brake light switch. Only by a few thou mind. Few minutes with a file and all sorted. Cheers for the advice people.
  10. Jonathan, thank you. John, thanks also. It's a cable I believe. I shall take a gander and see what's what. Hopefully easily fixed.
  11. Hi Jonathan, Thanks for the advice. I am not aware about adjusting the clutch cable. Can you advise please? Andy
  12. Quick question before I start taking car apart.. The clutch pedal has started making a loud click noise on full depression, ie at the last inch of travel. There feels to be a little resistance and then it gives and clicks. I'm thinking the cable catching somewhere, maybe in the pedal box. Anyone come across this before? If so wat s it and what is the fix please? Andy
  13. People, thanks for the comments. I think the answer is 13s. Final decision yet to be made on tyres though. My conversion from 125 Roadsport to 140 Supersport shall soon be complete. And I've saved money too!
  14. Hi Jonathan, wet performance not really an issue. I may do the odd track day but 90 percent road use. As for clearance I manage ok with speed bumps with my 14s so don't want to go much lower. Its on Avon ZV3 tyres. ( not at home so can't check profile)
  15. I know it's been covered in other threads but I am still a bit confused. I am currently running 14 inch wheels and as part of my tinkering wonder whether a change may bring improvements. What is the collective opinion of changing to 13 inch or 15 inch wheels in terms of ride and handling feed back? Do 13s bring an improvement in acceleration that's noticeable? Should I have 6 inch wide all round or 6 front and 8 rear? What is best tyre for road use? And if I change, is it just a straight swap? For info I have an S3 Roadsport 140 Sigma so not huge power, running 185/60 14s. Thanks in Advance, Andy
  16. GJT, thanks ever so. Jonathan, I have sent a PM. Thanks guys.
  17. I am looking for some wind deflectors and also some mirrors with fittings to go on the windscreen frame. Thanks Andy
  18. My car wasn't supplied with the little plastic cap that fits on the washer bottle. Caterham sent one, but its too big. Anyone know what the original vehicle it is from please so I can source my own? The car is a 2015 S3 with a Sigma 140 engine. Thanks.
  19. The order from Soft bits for Sevens arrived the other day. Few little presents for the car so to speak. Steering wheel and tunnel bag and one for the hood. Have to say I am dead impressed. The quality of the workmanship and the materials is amazing. I'm liking the idea of an aero screen but SWMBO is going to hate it so its a no no. Thinking that sans side screens and some wind deflectors may be an idea as a bit of a compromise. I see some modification of the deflectors is recommended so will have to try that. And I will need mirrors on the windscreen mount. Searching blat chat has given me some ideas for those. Oh and just to add some thing to the mix, Caterham have just launched the 310.152BHP? Sounds nice. Wonder if the upgrade at 1500 quid will go on my engine? Hang on.. Upgradeitus already? Oh dear. Think that will have to wait a fair while, only had the car a month! Although Premier Power do an F155 upgrade.. Wonder if its cheaper??
  20. Heading west bound with hood up, about 10:40 am. I flashed and waved from my daily.
