  2. One assumes the 13x8 Apollo don't foul? Or am I expecting too much?
  3. I know this is an often discussed topic and the suggested route is a 5 mm spacer or grind the ear off a little but my question is actually why do the 8 x13 8 spokes I just picked up for my 2018 car actually foul on the de Dion ear at all? Since these wheels were introduced on the R500 I am led to believe the de Dion ear was modified by CC to overcome this so why do I have a problem on a nearly new car?
  4. I have fitted a K&N universal cone filter to the plenum of my 2018 360R, so pretty much the same. It's definitely louder and deeper with a nice growl. Not noticed any negatives or flat spots, still idles nicely. Win win as far as I am concerned and glad I did it. Andy
  5. Can I have red one please? Andy

  7. No diet indeed and an increase in power to weight ratio! Win win in my book. Now..pass the whisky and chocolate.
  8. But more weighing today and blimey!!!!!!!!! 15 inch Orcus alloy plus practically new( 900 mile) ZZS is 15kg, a set then 60kg. So.... based on my previous post above, a staggered set of 13s weigh 42kg which is a weight save of 18, yes Eighteen, KG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Double blimey!
  9. Bit of weighing this morning: 13x6 Eight spoke with 175/55/13 CR500 10kg 13x8 Eight Spoke with 205/55/13 CR500 11kg
  10. Ok. With the help of the following great blog courtesy of Daniel, I have a bit of an answer-( apologies for the copyright theft!) http://www.caterhamr500.co.uk/2016/07/new-cr500s-with-weights.html Caterham 6x13 eight spoke weighs 4.4kg Caterham 8x13 eight spoke weighs 4.7kg From CC website:- 6x13 Apollo weighs 4.16kg 8x13 Apollo weighs 4.76kg 6.5 x15 Orcus weighs 5.8kg 6x 14 Classic weights 4.88kg So, I'm looking at a 5kg weight reduction going from 15s to 13 inch eight spokes without considering tyres.
  11. Hi I know where there is a staggered set of 13 inch apollos in silver with ZZS tyres for a good price if you are interested. Andy
  12. Does anyone know the weights of the 6x13 and 8x13 8 spoke wheels that Caterham supplied as a fore runner to the Apollo wheel? Thanks Andy
  13. Thank you Tazio.. I will let you know when I have found the other three!
  14. Wrightpayne, That's a good bit of advice. Thank you! Andy
  15. Firstly I have a 2018 360R currently on 15 inch wheels. I am looking at getting some 13 inch wheels: 6 inch front and 8 inch rear. My question is about tyre size, in relation to profile and section. CC sell the ZZS in 185/55 for the fronts and 215/55 for the rear. After much research, the ZZS is the Only 13 inch tyre available in both these sizes. There are several other tyres available in 13s many of which are cheaper, this being one reason to swap so the question is, what sizes are people running front and rear then in profile and section if not using ZZS? I think I have confused myself. Help please. Thanks in advance Andy

    Feeding my addiction

I think all of this will seem very familiar to anyone with a 7. The years hankering and planning, hours desperate weather watching, empty pockets and then a few snatched drives that keep you going till the next window of spare time that matches the weather. You will soon tire of " Did you build it Mister?"', but will never of the waves from passing motorists, the feeling of freedom and the connection to the car. There will always be something to tinker with and long winters will pass like an age till you can get her out again. But on the right road, on the right day, it's all totally worth it. Till the next time anyway! Welcome to the the mad house!
