  1. Richard’s advice is spot on. I did my first season last year and was tempted to change the car before I started. I left it as it was and then worked out what I needed with help from the other drivers and gaining a bit of experience to know what was best for me.
  2. Sorry to hear it is such a big job Charlie. But great that it has not put u off, and I look forward to seeing you back on track again in Loton if all goes to plan.
  3. Charlie, hows things with the car? Hope u are ok now? You still looked a bit shocked when we spoke in Coventry not surprisingly! I was going to reference your experience in the report but not go into details obviously, if that’s ok?

  5. Has anyone offered to do this yet Michael? If not let me know, although I might be a bit sketchy on details, as I was at the far end of the paddock, but could try to sort something for you.
  6. Thanks! I have definitely not being committing to the track properly by the sounds of things!
  7. To be quite honest Richard, I still felt very new when I arrived at Curborough! I watched the vids after and thought the same as you, which was why didn’t I watch these first! :). I struggled with grip, which may have been my new tyres being too new, I also moved the brake balance the wrong way for one run and went on the grass as a result, and the fact I was not taking the right approach meant I was not quite prepared for the first round to say the very least! I also had not had chance to have any practice in my new car, so the first practice run was exciting...all part of the learning process I suppose! As for remembering the intro to sprinting day, that was almost 2yrs ago! I can’t remember what I went into a room for most of the time.
  8. That is a great vid, apart from the mirror as you say. Watching this and Tom’s vid makes me realise how little I know about Curborough, but have given me some great insight into how to go faster! I was not even using kerbs last week... You definitely know how to carry good speed through the apexes!
  9. Thank you. Some brilliant pics there!
  10. Great pics! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Planning to get there for the Sunday morning I think. Will be an early start!
  12. I have one like that you can have for £10 if you want it? Will be at Curborough.
  13. Good spot Chris! I was wondering when that would appear. I had a chat to the chap who wrote it, and this is the first time I have seen it, so it could have been worse I suppose! I didn’t say that class 3 was the most competitive class for example just in case anyone is offended in another class! Shame they didn’t use any of the club or series logos that I sent to them though. The magazine has improved a bit as well, and not just because I am in it...
  14. I have a few bits for sale. Items in Wakefield. However will be in Otterburn, on Saturday, and Bristol on Sunday this weekend so could arrange to meet anyone in those areas if required, or en-route to save postage. - New and unused clutch cable. Kept as a spare and never used. £20 plus postage. - New and unused throttle cable for K Series. Kept as a spare and never used. £35 plus postage. - S3 Petty strut. In good condition. £20, postage might be tricky due to the weight. - Trackday roll bar headrest. £10 plus postage. - Race wrist/arm restraints. In good condition. £20 plus postage
  15. Thanks, looks like a good compact trailer. Think I am going for a micromax however as seems about as small and light as is available
  16. Yes, something for a Seven. I have a Brian James C4 Blue I will be selling, but want to go for a smaller trailer.
  17. Looking for a small trailer which is lightweight, single axle, and ideally with folding drawbar/towbar/a-frame. Brian James Minno or micro max would be good. But any good, lightweight trailer considered.
  18. I also have a petty strut for an S3 that I don’t need any more if you need one.
  19. I have just finished my first season, so give me a call and I will talk you through it. Will send you my number.
  20. Thanks Simon. Much appreciated. All sorted now, crotch straps now obtained and installed, and Hans purchased, so I am ready to go I think.
  21. Danny boy, Shaun and Richard thank you for your advice, really helpful as always. Dave Gemzoe came to my house today with his HANS to check, and all looks ok, and I understand a bit more now. As usual, it is not that complicated but trying to figure it out on your own is quite tricky. Just need to get my crotch straps now and I will be sorted. Thanks again
