  1. I have just finished my first season, so give me a call and I will talk you through it. Will send you my number.
  2. Thanks Simon. Much appreciated. All sorted now, crotch straps now obtained and installed, and Hans purchased, so I am ready to go I think.
  3. Danny boy, Shaun and Richard thank you for your advice, really helpful as always. Dave Gemzoe came to my house today with his HANS to check, and all looks ok, and I understand a bit more now. As usual, it is not that complicated but trying to figure it out on your own is quite tricky. Just need to get my crotch straps now and I will be sorted. Thanks again
  4. A bit of advice please regarding my car’s harness. I have a Schroth 4point harness at the moment, which has 2” belts at the shoulder, expanding to 3” further down towards the buckle. So has previously been used with HANS presumably, as it was a race car. I have no idea what model harness it is. I cannot work out what is correct and what is not from the various Schroth safety guides available online which are may as well be in another language, so thought I would ask for help. My questions below, any help gratefully received! I have no idea if my harness has the Schroth ASM technology included to stop anti-submarining, or what this even should look like - can anyone help me identify this? Can I use the 2” belts without Hans in Sprint events? If I have to buy a HANS device, what do I go for? I think the harness chassis mounting points may have been moved closer together, as there is at least one extra hole in the boot cover. My shoulders are level with the mounting points, so belts are level from mounts to my shoulders. Can I just buy a Hans that fits my neck? Or is there something I am missing? Does the Simpson Hybrid allow the use of 2” belts? Should I change to a 6 point harness? Or just buy the anti sub strap? Have no idea which one fits a Caterham, but assume this fits to the 2 mounting points at the back of the floor. As you can see, I really have no experience in this, so any advice welcome? Thanks!
  5. I am looking for good condition Tillett B6, and a W1 ideally. The standard Caterham Tilletts May also be ok as a secondary option. To fit an S3.
  6. S3 Meteor Motorsport Clear Aeroscreen, new in March this year, with SPA mirrors, good condition £179 Headrest £10 Petty Strut for S3 £20 Collection from Wakefield, although will be driving to Hertford on one of the next two weekends, down the M1, so can meet on the way if you want an item. All in good condition. Can send pics if you are interested in an item. Can be viewed on Facebook Caterham Marketplace group...photos not uploading here currently.
  7. Thanks Simon, looks like I have some fun ahead!
  8. That is brilliant, thanks, will give it a try. I assume the seats don’t need to be attached to the car in any way?
  9. Ok, have found some info now, it makes more sense. Do your bag seats need to be fitted to the car? I assume not? Also, do you buy a kit from somewhere or improvise - if the latter, what do you use? I might have a go at this.
  10. Read the canoe story, brilliant. I may well go for tillets B6 and W1 as Shaun and Simon suggest. The smaller passenger seat is what I was looking for. Read about the canoe, and after having a good laugh at the story, have got the gist of a bag seat principle I think! Can someone advise how a bag seat is made in simple terms? I searched the site but could not find anything, but maybe not looking in the right place.
  11. Great advice thanks all! Gives me something to consider Need to look into how a bag seat is made!
  12. Just in the process of buying a race car for next years championship. Need to get a seat or two. The obvious choice would be a pair of tillets, but thought I would lean on the collective experience here, and take any advice on possible alternatives? Thanks!
  13. Thanks. Someone at work tried a cheaper camera previously and ended up with a go pro, I guess you get what you pay for. Looks like that will be a job once I get a new car! i know how many times you watch your videos back, so Mrs Price has a long winter ahead with you taking control of the 40” TV on an evening!
  14. I have seen that, but as an ex drift academy car, it puts me off, as it sounds like it has been repeatedly thrashed.
  15. Thanks also SKC for the huge amount of detail, plenty to consider also! I will keep looking for an appropriate car, and then start making some plans.
  16. K7 VCT, thank you for the explanation, that makes sense, and I really didn’t know that was an option, so that is massively helpful.
  17. Ok, I am interested in alternatives also, but don’t quite follow your post - I am a simple chap and easily confused! Ti-vct is a ford engine or something else? And what car did you start with? A 125 or 135? And finally, what was the cost of upgrading to 150? Thanks!
  18. I am in the process of changing my car, and still have options open as to the spec I will go for. However thinking about a class 2/3 car, there are a few 125bhp sigma cars around, particularly ex academy cars. For sigma engines it seems that Premier Power are the experts here. I know Rob Jacobs has this upgrade, but not sure if anyone else has experience in this area that may help? I still have a Few options on the radar, but a sorted 150bhp sigma class 3 car sounds quite appealing. Any advice welcome!
  19. A few more pics of my car. It will be put up for sale on ebay and piston heads the week after next. Thought I would give the opportunity for first refusal here. Spec as per earlier posts on this thread. 235bhp 1.9k, great engine, pulls smoothly, and is docile at low revs, and just keeps building power through the rev range. Engine has done less than 2k miles since being upgraded. Mileage 6434 in total. Bodywork is not perfect, (but how many are?), but it has been good enough for me. It weighs less than 500kg (485kg I think), so has close to R500 performance. Mechanically it is spot on and has never once let me down. Serviced in February, and limited mileage since. It has had a flat floor set up. I have looked after it carefully - New radtec radiator, new fuel filter and fuel lines, Avon ZZS, I replaced the boot floor a year ago, and new banner battery 2months ago. MOT until March, never had an MOT issue. It has only had one previous owner from new. Sale includes, half hood as pictured, half doors, full doors and tonneau cover. I want to retain the Reg number, but open for discussion if required. Asking price is £17,999. It is in Wakefield. If you want more pictures, or more details, just PM me. I will not be able to do viewings until the week after next, but will take any requests on a first come first served basis.
  20. Yes, thanks Chris will be checking regs before committing to a new car!
