  1. I will be lowering my 7" headlights when my new brackets arrive.

What connectors do I need to obtain- (2005 K series) in advance and am I correct in assuming the lamps are connected to the main loom by a 6 way econoseal unit.

Is the connector fitted to the lamp wiring a Male or Female?

Do I need to buy a new complete unit(M/F) or will buying new connector pins  and seals suffice, and what colour seals will i need.

I understand it can be a job fitting the new econoseal unit any advice appreciated

  2. Sound good to me, I intend to retain my 7" units. My car is wide track.

Its even better to know that if one does change from 7 to 5's the brackets can be retained.

Look forward in the new year to the new production run.

  3. Yes they do Ian, when I look down the light from above it appears there is not a lot of room before the light would contact the nose cone, unless the new brackets (either the Caterham units or the ones made by 7 Wonders) move the lights more central?

  4. Is lowering 7" Headlights (2005 model) a simple matter of removing the existing brackets and replacing them with low headlamp wishbone brackets.

Will there be sufficient clearance between the headlamp and the noise cone?

    Are any wiring mods required?

  5. Can anyone tell me how the electrical cables are routed, I seem at a loss in tracing them, I want to cable tie onto existing when running new cable to allow the fitting a 12 v socket at the rear of the car

  6. No problems with cable runs, I run concealed USB cables (easy in a 7) with the correct end connector for the Go Pro.

HOWEVER  a GoPro will not give the same functions as a dash cam in terms of detection shunts when you leave the car etc

I use Next Base Dash Cams with Mag mounts in my other cars and on dry days I have use these in the 7 with a windscreen mount but there is the theft element if left exposed which you would want from the dash cam if you had a parking shunt.

Next Base used to do a waterproof bike camera which for some reason they discontinued.

I suppose it depends what you aim is, for me the Go Pro records my journeys and what other cars around me are doing so at least if there is an incident I do have a record of events- even it is my fault

  7. Thanks Midas

Looks fine, and with the 70 profile the arches  fill in well.

Like you a run the Rain Expert 3 in 195/45/15 format and have had no problems in normal and very wet conditions - however I do regulate my driving style to maintain grip

  8. Hello Dennis

    Two options

1 On my rear camera (Hero 3 old style) I just remove it from its water proof enclosure, the front one it unclips it from the slide in mount either on the windscreen or aero and take away. They are so small they fit in your pocket. You can even use them as a normal camera if you want.

2 Or leave them fitted - if I leave the car I put on the shower cap they are hidden.

    Never had a problem

  9. I run  with two Go Pro camera's running via power leads to give power when the car is in use

The rear camera is fitted to a roll bar mount (rear facing) and the front is fitted to a mount in the Centre of the aero screen- both work a treat and are fully waterproof
