  1. Thanks checked out DVA Power but unable to find details - however I do take note of ALL the advice Oily posts on this site. Not to worry I will remove and make up a cover plate- I will hold onto bracket for possible future use?

  2. Can anyone advise if the large alloy bracket on the front of the block (see plastic cam belt cover) serves any purpose, if not can it be removed and a blanking plate fitted ????

Doing a Cam Belt change and it could be the ideal time to get rid of it.

  3. I am using the current lockdown period to replace the  Cambelt - Tensioner and Waterpump on my 1800 K series.

I have read all the the posts and feel happy carrying out the job (says I) - regarding the water pump, do I need to drain the system  first, can I lubricate the pump seal with Vaseline in place of rubber lub and finally any tips on bleeding the cooling system should I need to drain down.

The antifreeze currently in the engine is a pink colour- any idea what make and type this is?? (could it be Comma X stream Red?)

Any advice on doing the works  appreciated.

    Gordon

  5. Thanks

I can I assume the front brakes also use the spitfire disc's.

Are the rears any model year Ford Sierra.

So are these the ones supplied by Caterham or are there Caterham specific

  6. I run a 2005 K series on an imperial chassis.

Can some one inform me if the brake calipers fitted to my car (both front and rear) are specific to the Caterham or are they the same as fitted to other cars and how best to source when required.

Ditto with regards to brake pads - car road use onlyt

    My discs are standard units.
