  3. Yes, I'd echo what you both say. Thank you to Graham and the team that stepped forward and took on from where Chris left off and I think that the recognition of what you have done, Chris, is well deserved. Lots of people have already posted thanks on WhatsApp and I think this reflects how much it is was enjoyed by so many. It was great to be driving competitively again after so many months. Simon H
  4. Thanks for the recommendation - I did the A483 today! A bit further down I exchanged a wave with a cheerful small group of Sevens on their way towards Brecon. Simon
  5. Of course - thanks all! I thought that it was really well organised, both by our track team and the circuit manager. It was the first time I'd been to this circuit - well worth the effort. Simon
  6. I think that you failed that test..
  7. At the start of the letter it sounded like it was going to be cheaper!
  8. Hello Derek, We booked all the ferries before (for less stress). i think that you probably could just turn up, but it might be more risky on busy days (I don't really know though). i hope the weather will be good - I think that this would be a big factor for how it goes! cheers simon
  9. S3 Petty strut for sale £40 - for collection at 'Intro to Sprinting' Includes padding and fixing bolts. All proceeds will be given to the club charity. cheers Simon
  10. Hello PG. i look forward to see you at the next Somerset meet. I can’t add anything to the comments above - those mentioned are well established businesses. As Paul said, we would be interested if you find another. All the best, Simon Somerset (ooh) AR
  11. Morning Chris, A couple of us in class 1 were at Castle Coombe last year (so I think this changes the Edward Lewis points) Simon H
  12. It is not too hard to DIY (PPG premier paint guard supply the kit and pre cut film). In my opinion it is only worth doing the wings. It is amazingly tough stuff - you don’t need wing protectors. Simon
  13. Thanks Richard, Interesting to watch - very fast and tidy. Simon
  14. Thanks Dave, I enjoy looking through the pictures that you post.
  15. I have a my race light fitted as a brake light. It is indeed bright. I have covered some of the array with insulation tape to subdue it a bit. Simon
  16. I have made up a route for Cheddar Gorge/Wells/Glastonbury from the A303. My wife and I did it today - it’s a good little run (and full of points of interest) feel free you use it if you need inspiration (here) Simon
  17. A colleague at work told me that her late father built a Seven with registration N325FOT (BRG with flared wings). She would be interested to know if it is still on the road and see a photo. Any one know anything? Simon
  18. This is the one that you want (if the switch is the problem) Link At least your light is stuck on. Mine was intermittent and completely unknown to me until I was told after some dramatic evasive action from a friend following behind. Caterham should fix this.
  19. Mark, I did experience the problem you describe. There was a poor connection between the wingstay and the chassis. It sounds like I was a bit unlucky though - it only happened on one side. I solved it by running an earth wire along by the indicator wire. I expect that you should be fine without, and if not you know the solution. Simon
  20. I have always found there to be a very helpful atmosphere in the paddock - you should get plenty of help whenever you need it. good luck with the preparations, and see you in a few months, Simon
  21. A good alternative to fitting wing protectors is 3M film. Premier paint guard sell it cut in the right shape (with a club discount). You can fit it yourself on a new wing. It is remarkable stuff. I did about 25k miles and the wing was still in very good condition.
  22. I have just drilled out the knee trim rivets on my new car to install the captive nut thing for the aero screen. (Most Sevens have self taping screws, but mine does not for some reason) Other than looking tidy, what other function does the knee trim have? Once riveted back access is restricted. I’m tempted to add lightness... Simon
