  1. If any of you have a passion for Classic bikes and room in your garage I'm looking to sell my fully restored 1972 Norton Commando Interstate. PM me for full details and price if interested.
  2. https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2019-caterham-seven-360r
  3. Another install of The PRT with Apollo tank and highly polished bonnet !
  4. Before we career towards another lockdown a few of us are heading into North Wales tomorrow. The intention is to get to the Conwy Falls Cafe for around 10am onwards. A few of us are setting out from the BP Garage at the Battlefield roundabout at 8am. If more than 6 cars turn up we'll split into smaller groups.
  5. Off side (RH looking forward) at the forward end of the engine mid way down. It's a plastic housing held on by one bolt if my memory serves me well.
  6. Spotted driving down into Much Wenlock around 4.30pm today, probably Kawasaki Green
  7. It would be great if Igor and Mark could produce a written up schematic for heater and non heater cars with relevant part numbers and likely purchasing sources. Obviously the adapted thermostat housing is a bespoke part but relevant dimensions of the added pipe would help others who wish to go along this route.
  8. Spot temperature checks are fine but it still doesn't get away from the alarming indicated 30C swing of temperature depending on how much air is flowing through the radiator. The thermostat does not seem to act fast or effectively enough to stabilise the temperature at the stat's rating. Could this be to do with the pressure in the system pushing the thermostat open too much. This would probably be the reasoning why the housing has such a large bypass cut out to try and minimise the pressure effect on the stat.
  9. No need to drill the thermostat as there's a milled cut out in the housing already allowing flow through.
  10. Well my 620 has been in Oakmere for a couple of days trying to address the overcooling issue. It appears they have changed the thermostat for what I can only assume is the preloaded one that CC have suggested. The result is the running temperature at 3K revs has now moved up from 50C to 60C. The biggest change is that the speed of change of the temperature is much slower. So it takes longer to warm up (not an issue for me). Overall on a 40 mile return journey back of country A roads with periods of high revs and mixed speeds Some stops at lights the temperature stayed between 65C and 80C. So, this does not negate the badly designed system and it’s inherent fault of not holding a steady temperature but it will do me for now until the warranty runs out or one of the team come up with a cost effective remedy. At the moment I would lean towards a PRRT system having good success with them in the past but may be persuaded otherwise when the current tests by others have been completed.
  11. This is pretty much the same as the Rover PRRT set up except that the original stat is removed or the centre bulb and spring cut out. I always found it worked a treat on the K series.
  12. I have a Wipac set of sidelights on my Defender. Within a month one had water ingress. The supplier swapped, no problem. I think the majority, no matter what make are made in the PRC so for me it comes down the quality and customer service of the UK supplier or distributor. Also whether the lights are supposedly compliant and the supplier will back that statement up.
  13. We all have our favourite Blats and there are there are numerous websites suggesting the best roads to drive or drives to add to your bucket list. So, I thought I'd start a thread of some of favourite Blats that are well worth doing in a Caterham. Feel free to add your best drives so we can build up a list geographically spread around the UK and Europe. Location - Mid Wales Newtown to Crossgates on the A483 (Either direction) 21 miles of very good condition tarmac consisting mainly of sweeping bends and corners in a very scenic area. (A big favorite of the Bikers). Best time to drive - Early on a Sunday morning between 7.30 - 9.30am If you drive the route to finish in Crossgates there's a good cafe at the Crossgates Service Station to enjoy a hearty Full English.
