Glynh
I'm a new 360S SV owner embarking on my first longish trip to Castle Combe on Saturday. Can anyone advise on the accuracy of the fuel gauge, in my last car (Morgan) it was a random number generator and I had to keep a close eye on the odometer. Nigel Blandin
Hahahahahahahaha......just don't go below a quarter, in a straight line, on the flat.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 18, 2023 Member Share Posted September 18, 2023 Welcome.1 You're right to be concerned. 2 Gauge Magic: Andrew Revill's recalibrator +++. (You'll need the Mk II.)Jonathan
SM25T
Ours on a 2002 Rover engined SV works well. I can run it down to the R position and into the red and it keeps going !
ScottR400D
#4 Mine does that. On the red, drive for miles and till only get 26/7 litres in an SV. They might as well just fit a dipstick.
Area Representative Nico506 Posted September 18, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted September 18, 2023 My gauge reads empty when full and full when empty !!

StevehS3
Most of the error on my 310 was corrected by bending the sender float arm. I believe this is needed because the fuel pump is sat in a well in the Ford application. Certainly my float was raised above the bottom of the tank when empty. John Vine has a thread somewhere that describes this well and how to rectify.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 18, 2023 Member Share Posted September 18, 2023 John Vine's Guide: "Recalibrating the fuel gauge on on pre-2015 Duratecs".This is before Andrew's analysis of the electronics.Jonathan
ScottR400D
#8 you'd think after all these years whoever fits the pumps in the tanks at the factory would have twigged that one!
Roger Ford
Mine goes Full Full Full Full Full Nearly full Whoah... EMPTY!!!
GulfSeven
My Elise had a digital gauge that showed amount left in litres. It would count down to 11l before it just said REFILL - i.e. with 10l left it basically said you're on your own. It was only a 35 litre tank so not the best accuracy
Glynh
Thanks for all the tips, I think I'll watch the odometer.
John Vine
#13 That's what I tend to do, even after modifying the float arm.JV
