finmac
The one on my 2005 R300 has a single cable into it and is falling to bits so I need to replace it. I see there seems to be an LED replacement on offer now, is this just plug and play I wonder as it looks like there are two cables on it?
SM25T
Connect one to ground. Remember LEDs are polarity sensitive, so has to be connected the right way round to work
krisfl
Mine just disintegrated too. I've just fitted the JAL one. Currently on offer. HERE Yes it's VERY easy to fit, and as ever there is a step by step how to video... There is actually two cables on the factory light when you take it apart. Everything you need comes in the kit. Took me about 15mins including tea slurps...
Member Jonathan Kay Posted March 26, 2023 Member Share Posted March 26, 2023 Which unit are you looking at, please? If it's just a numberplate light then what Ian says. You can get it right by identifying the wires by colour, or testing with a meter, or suck it and see.Jonathan
Dave Hardcastle
I fitted this one a while ago. Good piece of kit and reasonably priced.

AlastairA
Finmac,Here's a picture of the current one supplied with my 420r kit - it is a combined Reversing Light and Number Plate light that seems to be a pretty efficient unit - comes with an econoseal connector that plugs into the loom:Link.Hope that helps. Member Jonathan Kay Posted March 27, 2023 Member Share Posted March 27, 2023 That's why I asked about the specific unit. That combined unit won't work with the simplest switched-earth circuit for the reversing light. But there are some workarounds: "Reverse light & New Caterham Light Kit".Jonathan
