  1. I removed mine for fitting of a Tracsport LSD. The guide I followed came from the old site so link is broken. I would definitely say remove both driveshafts. It's hard enough wiggling the diff out with both driveshafts removed. I don't believe you'd get it out with one still in place, if you can, it will make it SO much harder. My removal/refit went a lot smoother than I expected, always nice 😁
  2. Well done Geoff. I have to say, unless Caterham are designing and building one of their own LSDs why it taking so long? They just need to find a suitable unit with a manufacturer that can keep Caterham supplied with sufficient units, then order them.
  3. The aeroscreen comes without any mounting holes. You will need to drill a single hole each side of the screen to attach to the car where the normal screen bolts, and also in the centre for the bracket poppers or bolts. I have the latter.
  4. Good for you 👍 It's not a race so just enjoying the experience is the main thing. I also drive to track days. I would say it feels like the majority trailer their cars these days, but you certainly won't be the only one driving to the events.
  5. I have the clear Meteor Motorsport aero screen, bought for track days. I initially fitted a convex mirror to the centre and flat near side and offside. On track I just couldn't gauge how far back any following cars were, so I've now changed to flat centre, flat offside and convex near side. The latter because I just couldn't adjust the mirror to get a good rear view. I use the Racetech mirrors, they are a far more reasonable price.
  6. If you have a K-Series style Lucas fob, I used this service on my previous Caterham. It couldn't have been easier, and far cheaper than Caterham as well.
  7. Northampton Motorsport can supply MBE ECU's and map them to your car.
  8. I put my 2008 R400D registration into the system and it said it was compliant, I was amazed!
  9. A far easier way would be to write to the Martin.Phipps@caterham.com, Caterham Archivist and a club member also, and ask him for the details of your car. As it was a Caterham promotional build he may not be able to help, but you don't know until you ask.
  10. I had one of these on my 1.6 K-Series. BS airbox fitted by DVA during upgrade.
  11. I'd do the RR session on standard 95 fuel as per the advice you've received. Personally, I don't think it will make that much difference, it's not like any of us are after thousandths of a second on our lap times.
  12. I have a 2008 R400D. When purchased it had a Quaife ATB fitted and had a considerable whine around the 3-4k rev area. I had a Tracsport LSD fitted to the diff by Steve Perks, and I still have the same whine. I'm quite happy Steve set the crown wheel and pinion up correctly. I've tried a variety of different diff oils, including a very expensive one, and none made it any quieter than Ford SAE 90, which I now use. If your diff doesn't whine, you're probably just lucky

  14. My last Caterham was a 1.6 K-Series. Every so often, intermittent, I'd get the dreaded click on turning the ignition. Put the car in gear, handbrake off, then roll it back and forth, jerking the drive train. That always allowed me to then start the car normally. If that gets it started, it would be worth cleaning all the battery lead connections, including at the kill switch if you have one. Hope that's of help
