Simon Orr
I'm in the process of replacing the rusty bolts, managed to retrieve both locking nuts and washers using a magnet and have successfully fitted the bolt on the right (silver finish). The other bolt is almost inaccessible and at this point I cannot work out how to get the washer and locking nut onto the new bolt and tightening them up without risking losing them. Even if I manage to get the washer and the nut on I cannot see how I can get a socket on the nut to hold whilst I tighten it. I would be grateful for any tips/solutions. Thank you. grumpy the 7th
remove the inner small panel (only a few self tappers) under the scuttle, it probably has some foam stuck to the inside and you can see all the bolts & washers, Replacement as per the Haynes manual is "replace in reverse order of removal Looks better iy you use dome head hex bolts - https://www.carbolts.co.uk/products/black-stainless-steel-socket-button?variant=20539119235
SM25T
Yup. Remove knee trim panel. Fit captive nut channels. Quick and easy job.
jbcollier
The link is to "button" head allen bolts. "Truss head" ones are wider and are more like the originals.
Simon Orr
Got it! That's great thanks all. Went back out to the car and had a better look - all is clear now.I have suitable bolts (the silver ones) but will investigate other options. Does anyone have a link for replacement self tappers (of the right size), as some are missing? Cheers.

rkeywood
Is that seriously 84p EACH? An 8 x 1/2" black flange posi from a fixings co will be about £1 for 20. Try Spalding Fasteners or Kays- both on eBay or direct.
aerobod - near CYYC
That is for a pack of 10.
ScottR400D
It's for 10 but still twice what you'd pay on eBay etc. and CC don't skimp on postage charges either. When I needed the plastic washers for the A frame mount, the carriage cost was multiples of the product cost. I bought from eBay at a fraction of either. Simon Orr
Thanks Paul, I have spent hours searching for them in the Caterham Online parts pages, not everything is where you'd expect it to be.
