  1. Hi Dave, I'm well thank you. Settled in to the new place, I even have a proper stable for the Caterham now. 🙂 I wasn't out in mine when I met John so my state of mind was very much with heated seats and being fully enclosed in the Beemer. Unlike you I don't have heated seats in the Caterham so will have to dress accordingly not unlike John but that's half the fun for me. I've clocked up 4,500 miles in this my first year of ownership, what's your mileage looking like? I don't envisage the enthusiasm waning once the upgrade has been done. Was at Brands on 17 Nov with PT Sportscars, Brands is now my favourite track.
  2. Apologies John, that's a good bit of road time, as you say when the sun's out... I don't yet know when I'll get mine back as we have yet to set a timetable but almost certainly not until the New Year. I'll let you know and maybe meet up for a Blat. I've only just moved to Wantage so there is plenty to explore around here. I can recommend a Blat over the B4494 if you haven't done so already, I notice you headed out on the Hungerford road, not done that one yet. Looking to do the Taffia run in 2024, my first was this year.
  3. Bumped into Rob 'Spuddy Supersport' in his yellow with twin black stripes 7 fueling up at Broadway Motors BP Garage in Wantage this morning on a Blat from Bracknell. I then drove down to Hampshire and just before I arrived at my destination in Whiteley spotted a Black 7 with twin red sripes GP10'C'(?)KA heading north through Burridge on the Botley road at about 13:25. A good day for it, shame I didn't have mine.
  4. This evening (Mon 25 Sep 23) heading south on the A339 just south of Basingstoke. 2 up in a blue Caterham with twin black stripes and an aeroscreen. I was in an Estoril Blue M140i heading the other way returning from a Supercar Experience at Goodwood.
  5. Sadly I wasn't in mine, I was in an Estoril Blue M140i going the other way just before you reached the junction for Beauworth and Cheriton. Always brings a smile to my face when I see another 7. Safe driving. :-)
  6. BRG with orange/yellow nosecone and roll bar reg C7 HTM
  7. #27 John, many thanks for the article. Changed to 6 digit code to the correct number and the speedo now appears to be accurate. Interestingly the code that it was set to was 039437 which doesn't correlate to anything on the list.
  8. Thanks John, I found and read the post last night before seeing this post. A really detailed and useful guide, I'll have a look this weekend.
  9. JV, it is a 2010 125hp Roadsport (ex-Academy car), my technical knowledge is in sufficient to confirm if driven by a sensor next to a reluctor ring on the offside driveshaft. If it is easy to recalibrate that would be very helpful as my intention is to have a set of dry/track day tyres and a set of wet weather/touring tyres all on their own rims. I have been led to believe that it is a good idea to remain on narrower wet weather tyres (6" rims) to avoid aquaplaning which seems logical.
  10. I run 185/60/13 R888Rs al round on 13 x 6" rims. Thinking of switching the rears to 205/60/13s for a wider tyre, hopefully a little more grip , a longer 1st gear, to correct the speedo which overestimates the speed (satnav reads a lower speed that that on the speedo) and to fill the rear arches a little more. https://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-r888r https://www.avontyres.com/en-gb/tyres/zzs?cartype=motorsport
  11. Thanks Paul, I have spent hours searching for them in the Caterham Online parts pages, not everything is where you'd expect it to be.
  12. Got it! That's great thanks all. Went back out to the car and had a better look - all is clear now. I have suitable bolts (the silver ones) but will investigate other options. Does anyone have a link for replacement self tappers (of the right size), as some are missing? Cheers.
  13. I'm in the process of replacing the rusty bolts, managed to retrieve both locking nuts and washers using a magnet and have successfully fitted the bolt on the right (silver finish). The other bolt is almost inaccessible and at this point I cannot work out how to get the washer and locking nut onto the new bolt and tightening them up without risking losing them. Even if I manage to get the washer and the nut on I cannot see how I can get a socket on the nut to hold whilst I tighten it. I would be grateful for any tips/solutions. Thank you.
