finmac
A chap not far from me selling an R300 he's had from new. Factory build with the right chassis number, 2005 car. Has a single throttle body injection system - I thought all R300's came with the roller barrels? Can anyone advise please?
Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted October 13, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted October 13, 2022 Chris Rees book The Magnificent 7 says the R300 used the roller barrel induction from the R500... has a picture on page 140 of the engine bay of an R300 (mine is the 4th edition so the page number may be different if you have another edition). StevehS3
The later R300 K had the 1800 VVC engine with a single throttle and plenum.
Area Representative paul richards Posted October 13, 2022 Area Representative Share Posted October 13, 2022 "The later R300 K had the 1800 VVC engine with a single throttle and plenum." THAT'S CORRECT.
Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted October 13, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted October 13, 2022 Shows I should have read the whole entry in the book, does say that Euro III compliant engines were VVC and roller barrel induction dropped. Power up to 165bhp for these engines so perhaps worth seeking out?
finmac
Thanks guys. Knew there was a reason! Must be Euro 111 by 2005 then I suspect? Certainly my old 2003 R300 had roller barrels.Any idea when they stopped building R300 K series?
Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted October 13, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted October 13, 2022 Probably 2006ish? R300D was announced in October 2008, so almost certainly before then.
finmac
Looking at date that cars registered, must have moved to Euro lll in 2005 actually.
