Bob L
Hi All,Think I've read most of the the threads on this forum but still probably missed loads. Need to replace all round on 1.8 K series (1999 vintage). Just road use. Thinking Mintex M1144 seems popular but open to other suggestions. Ferodo DS2500?My main questions are:Are the front a rears the same (haven't dismantled yet). There seems to be many versions of the M1144. Anyone have a part number and a recommended sales outlet. Need to trust the supplier as I hear there are a few fakes out there :-(While I'm on here, any recommendations on brake fluid? Thanks, Bob
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 12, 2022 Member Share Posted October 12, 2022 On fluids: do you know what's in there? And which categories are compatible and which incompatible? Once that's established I'd be happy to use anything from a well-known producer.(No comment on brake pads.)Jonathan
Bob L
Thanks Jonathan,I am to flush through and replace whatever is in there. Assuming that is truly possible.

StevehS3
Assuming your brakes are the same as my last Caterham (they should be but check they look correct) I had these in the front: https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/mintex-m1144-brake-pads-minmgb533m1144/and these in the rear: https://www.gsfcarparts.com/za016095Demon Tweeks are a reputable supplier and GSF are a Delphi approved supplier. Alternatively, just call Redline who always give excellent advice. Always lots of opinion and different experiences with brakes!

JonT
I liked 1144s front with Caterham "blue dot" on the rear (Delphi LP507), otherwise the mismatch makes the rear a bit lively (this was on a 1997 K-series with standard pads/discs all around). StevehS3
#7 yes I think the balance is about as good as it can be with those. However, the LP507 isn't the same material as the original blue dot or the 507CC previously supplied by Caterham. I am not sure LP507 is as powerful braking.
