What is this thing and what does it do?

I believe some racers move the switch inside the cockpit so that it can be reset in flight.  I'd much rather do that than disable the switch altogether.

They can be quite sensitive, though.  My switch tripped during a French tour when I (gently) hit a ramp in the tarmac at the start of some roadworks.  But had I not realised what had happened and what to do about it, I'd have been stuck waiting for the recovery folks.

My 2016 ex Academy car has it in the cockpit already.  Very useful when I have one of my regular excursions on to the lesser used parts of a track!
