Sigma 140 throttle cable

I have a 7 with a sigma 140 engine. On the throttle cable at the pedal end two strands have snapped so the inevitable carnt be far off. Caterham don't stock new cables nor can I track one down anywhere, anyone any solutions? Alternatively anyone know if you can get a new inner with the fitting for the throttle body and a solution to other end to the peddle? I was thinking along the lines of a push bike brake cable but obviously need 2mm cable ...

Very odd caterham don't list it.

Perhaps give them a call.

Looking at my parts picking sheet for my car the part number has a space in it.  I wonder it that's the problem.  It's a Rover part number SBB10173.  It's either a phone call to CC, or other parts suppliers.  You can also use Rover parts suppliers (RimmerBros has them cheaper and in stock)

If you can't get a cable then it might be worth looking at motorcycle throttle cable repair kits. I got one for £6 from a local dealer that came in a tin with 1.2m each of 1mm and 2mm cable. One end of the cable had a 5mm fixed bead and there were about a dozen different loose ends

I use a bicycle brake cable and a solderless nipple for the throttle end

Rimmer brothers cable looks identical to the oakmere one, the rimmer ones is a better price.

Thanks all some great leads, will look into motor bike cable maybe I can future proof it for any issues further down the line as it ages, or maybe I just build another car...with more umph under the bonnet.
